"At present, for early lung cancers such as lung carcinoma in situ and microinvasive adenocarcinoma, the surgical cure rate is close to 100%. After removal of nodules and , there is basically no need for follow-up radiotherapy and chemotherapy, and there is less loss of lung function." Zhao Xuewei said that it is crucial to carry out active screening for high-risk groups, which can enable timely diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer in the early stage, and better treatment effect.
As a specific measure to implement the "Healthy Hongkou Action", in August this year, the District Health Commission and the Shanghai Chest Hospital Specialist Alliance jointly launched the "Lung Cancer Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment Service System Construction Project". The
project targets permanent residents aged 45 to 75 among the family doctor contracted by the family doctors in the jurisdiction of Hongkou . Family doctors from 8 community health service centers will first conduct risk assessment. For those who are tentatively designated as non-high-risk groups after evaluation, they will be included in the community follow-up. It is recommended that they undergo high-risk groups once a year; for the high-risk groups determined after evaluation, they will be transferred to Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital for further examination, and the hospital will provide subsequent targeted treatment for confirmed patients. The difficult and severe patients found here will be referred to Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital to Shanghai Chest Hospital or further diagnosed and treated under the guidance of Shanghai Chest Hospital. The launch of
"Lung Cancer Screening and Diagnosis and Treatment Service System Construction Project" will accelerate the construction of key cancer tiered diagnosis and treatment systems such as Hongkou District lung cancer. The reporter learned from the District Health Commission that the project designated Shanghai Fourth People's Hospital as a designated hospital for screening and diagnosis and treatment of high-risk lung cancer in Hongkou District, and established the "Hongkou District Lung Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment Center". By strengthening the construction of a multi-disciplinary team for lung cancer diagnosis and treatment, setting up special referral reception windows and green channels, etc., we will promote appropriate technologies in the lung cancer screening community, improve family doctor diagnosis and treatment skills, consolidate the community health service center "integrated comprehensive, medical and prevention integration" service function, and increase the proportion of early detection of lung cancer. As of now, the project has screened nearly 700 high-risk people, and found that 100 people were positive for lung cancer LDCT imaging, and 60 people have been referred to specialized disease clinics for further screening. Some patients are recommended for surgery or hospitalization.
