Because I have been thinking wildly, the air conditioner at home broke down some time ago, and I happened to make an appointment with a technician to come to repair it yesterday.

Before the master came, several things always appeared in my mind:

  • Can the repairman be nice?
  • Will he cheat me?
  • Can I repair it well?
  • Should I bargain with him?
  • ...

Actually, it is I have anxiety, and it makes me uneasy.

What is anxiety

Concern about the uncertainty of the future.

For example, in my own case I mentioned above.

I'm not sure that I can handle what happens next.

Why do you feel anxious?

Because people are always worried and worried about things that they cannot control. Why can't

control it?

Because the matter is beyond my ability, I am not sure I can do it well. What will happen if

cannot do it well?

I feel uncomfortable, I am too screwed up, I can’t do this well, I keep denying myself.

After all, when the things you have to face make you feel incompetent, you will easily become anxious.

How to Reduce Anxiety

Learn to use a growth mindset.

If I have been anxious, I may fall into a circle of self-denial, thinking that I am not good now and will not be good in the future, and become a fixed mindset.

But use a growth mindset: Just because I can’t do well now, doesn’t mean I won’t be able to do well in the future, because I will always study hard and let myself continue to grow.

As long as I continue to grow, I believe I can do well.

Just like repairing the air conditioner this time, although I can't deal with it freely now, this is also an opportunity to know where I have shortcomings and what I still need to learn.

So when you have certain thoughts, your anxiety will be reduced a lot.
