"Zhang Ye rides a big horse" custom
donggu Village is located in the northeast of Beixiang Town , south of the Weishui River, and facing Yunji Road in the west. There are 6 residential groups, 816 households and 2,643 people. The village has a cultivated land area of more than 4,700 mu, and the leading industries are mainly greenhouse fruits, vegetables, wheat and corn.
68-year-old Zhang Wanglin knows the history of Donggu Village. According to him, there was a Zhangfei Temple in the village in the past. The old temple was at the junction of Donggu Village and Xigu Village, and a new temple was built next to the village committee.
According to reports, in history, there was not only Zhang Fei Temple at the junction of Donggu Village and Xigu Village, but also the Ye Temple, with two temples next to each other. The trees in the temple were very thick, and only a few people could hold them around them. Later, the temple was destroyed.
Zhang Fei is a foreigner, and it is still unknown why he was able to settle in Donggu. But every March 28th, there is a custom of "Zhang Ye riding a horse" in Donggu Village.
Zhang Wanglin said that on this day, people from all over the Yellow River Golden Triangle Provinces, including Shanxi, Shaanxi and Henan, whoever raises horses at home will lead the horses to Donggu Village. What’s amazing is that when March 28th is approaching, horses everywhere will no longer eat grass. At this time, the owner knew that it was going to Donggu Village. Therefore, in the past, there was a rumor circulating in the village: "If you have a girl, you can marry her to the ancient village. You can see Mr. Zhang riding a big horse."
"If you can speak ancient villages, just hold your pistol"
In Zhang Wanglin's impression, Donggu Village used to have city walls around it, and there is also the saying "Eight Great Kings" - Donggu Village, three (big) flags, the whole family, Mengwa, and snot. These three people are relatively famous in the area around the circumference. In addition to the three (big) flags, there are eight small flags and twenty-four "Yunhe flags" (pronunciation, meaning ordinary flags). It is said that the Japanese do not have the courage to go to Donggu Village to cause trouble because "if you can speak ancient villages, just hold a pistol." The folk customs here have always been fierce, and the villagers not only have guns but also know how to do kung fu.
Zhang Wanglin said that everyone knows the "Niuzhuang Tragedy" that happened in Shangwang Township . It is said that when the Japanese came, they specifically bypassed Donggu Village.
Yao Zhiyuan said that now it seems that these "flags" circulating among the villagers are equivalent to a spontaneously established village protection team in the village, which can demonstrate the spirit of unity among the villagers.
A mysterious disappearing village
Wang Qiupeng often wanders around the village without any trouble and asks the old lady why the name of the old man village is Donggu, but everyone can't tell it clearly. "But one thing is certain is that there is Donggu first, and then Xigu. Xigu is the last place of residence of Guan Lang, the eighth descendant of Guan Yu ."
Zhang Wanglin said that, after the older generations, during the Qing Dynasty, there was a small village called Nujiazhuang, Erli Road from the village, which belonged to a natural village in Donggu, with only more than one hundred people. One year on New Year's Eve, the village disappeared overnight, and there was no one in the village. Someone came to the village to check on the first day of the Lunar New Year and found that the dumplings they made were still there, but the people were gone.
I remembered the blockage of the riverside
Zhang Wanglin said that when he was a child, there was often water in the river channel of the river, and the water was very clear. The river channel is slightly narrower than the current one and is not too regular. The Shuishi River was often affected by disasters in those days, and water that could not be contained in the river trough would overflow. When he was in the second and third grades of elementary school, there was a lot of water inside and it overflowed into the village. He still remembers the scene of his classmates rolling up his trousers and catching fish in school.
water comes from Xiama Reservoir on Fengcun . The river channel is broken, so you have to block it quickly. In the past, there were no tweeters, so the village cadres stood at a high place with a homemade "megaphone" and shouted, "Young people from all teams, hurry up and go to the river to block the gap."
"Jiang County Sanguquan, it cannot water Jiang County a piece of land." Zhang Wanglin said that the source of the Shuishi River is in Jiang County, and the mountain spring water in Jiang County flows over Wenxi . In the past, the land in the village was watered by the water from the Shuishu River. A small canal brought the water from the east, and all the land could be watered. It is precisely because of the Qingshui River that the land in the village is still quite fertile. The land mainly grows wheat, as well as grains such as millet and soybeans.
Because of the Weishui River, the dry land in Donggu Village has become a river trough land and no longer rely on the weather for food. The villagers who live here live a relatively comfortable life - the crops in the fields grow well and the harvest is good, and women from other villages are willing to marry into this village.
"Use water from the Qingshui River to irrigate the land quickly and conveniently. Because the river water is large, a hole is opened in the canal, and the water will flood it in a flash. Dozens of acres of land can be watered quickly, and two people can even water all the hundreds of acres of land." Zhang Wanglin said that the Qingshui River has been out of water for many years, and if you occasionally release water, you can't use the water from the water there to irrigate the land. Use groundwater to irrigate the ground, the water level drops sharply, the water is small, and the water is very slow.
