The translated meaning of this passage is this: "Good medicine is bitter to the mouth and good to the sick, and loyal advice is bad to the ears and good to the action." Therefore, it is said: "When the king makes mistakes, his ministers will make up for them; when his father makes mistakes, his sons will make up for them; when his elder brother makes mistakes, his younger brothers will make up for them; when he makes mistakes, his friends will make up for them." ’ In this way, the country will not be in danger of destruction, the family will not be disobedient, the father, son, and brother will not be at odds with each other, and friends will not be cut off from each other. "
Unfortunately, people today still don't understand the truth behind what the saint said more than two thousand years ago. Some people understand this truth but say one thing and do another. Experiences like Lao Yu's are common in society.
