Recently, the first batch of pilot projects for urban renewal in Jiangsu Province was announced, and the second phase of the Heduohe Theme Leisure Area project in Dongtai City was selected.
Dongtai is a city born from salt and prospered by rivers. The long history of boiling sea and salt has created Dongtai's unique historical status. The development of Caojian Salt Industry has nurtured Dongtai’s unique place name culture. During the Song Dynasty, He Duochang was found in Dongtai. It is precisely because of He Duochang that the name of He Duohe was born in history as the status of salt transported Jiaohe was raised. Spreading thousands of years, the Heduo River has rippled ripples, flowing out of the water in northern Jiangsu, becoming a golden river of water and soil.
Both sides of the Heduo River have experienced changes in salt fields, towns and urban landscapes, witnessed the urban changes in Dongtai and are the historical context of the city. In the 1970s, the Heduo River was re-excavated, and the industrial economy on both sides of the Taiwan Strait began to sprout, and the suburbs of the past became the new urban area of that era. In the 1990s, with the changes of the times, enterprises along the Heduohe route were gradually reorganized, and some areas on both sides of the strait gradually became settlements of shanty towns and old factory areas of enterprises.
The Heduohe area is located in the core area of Dongtai’s main urban area. It is a concentrated area of urban administration, image and culture. It is the urban gateway to the outside world. It also carries the beautiful memories and deep emotions of the people of Dongtai. In order to better promote the construction of high-quality cities and actively respond to the people's eager expectations for a better life, in recent years, the Dongtai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government have made great efforts to renovate and transform the shanty towns on both sides of the Heduo River, and plan to build the Heduo River into a Qiliyang, which integrates quality, business and form.
Heduohe Theme Leisure Area Phase II Featured Block Project
Heduohe Theme Leisure Area Phase II Featured Block Project is located on the west side of Dongting Bridge in Dongtai City, between Laoba River and Heduo River. The theme of the project construction is Songyun District, which is a comprehensive commercial-style neighborhood integrating characteristic leisure, tourism and shopping. The block is arranged in a triangular shape, and the project covers an area of more than 30,000 square meters.
The project takes salt transportation culture as its foundation, allowing the millennium industry and new businesses to be passed down in the humanistic warmth. With fashion, trends and cultural and creative as the finishing touch, it injects new functions into the historical district, and builds a value combination block integrating "care and consumer commercial style blocks, urban leisure and life tourism comprehensive base, cultural and creative industry center". In the future, it will present a city-style show with cross-border theme commercial blocks as the core and intertwined with historical culture, modern life, and fashion trends. It is committed to creating the urban cover and humanistic waterfront living room, creating a new image of the city, driving the development of Dongtai cultural and tourism industry, and creating a sample benchmark for urban rejuvenation and business practice.
Heduohe Theme Leisure Area Phase II Featured Block Project
Heduohe Theme Leisure Area The entire project is located in the center of Dongtai City, with a total length of 3.5 kilometers. The project has three themes divided into three phases of the interweaving of ancient and modern times, urban cultural style area, industrial imprint, urban impression interpretation area, and future science and technology, and ecological science and technology experience area. At present, the pilot zone of the Heduohe Leisure Landscape Belt (Phase I) located between Heduoqiao and Ernu Bridge, which is 1 km long, has been completed and opened for operation. Located on the west side of Dongting Bridge in Dongtai City, the second phase of the Heduohe theme leisure area between Laoba River and Heduohe is accelerating the construction of functional projects such as Songyun District, Hilton Hotel , Neighborhood Center, etc.
