But as the epidemic continues and I cannot return to China, I have to work in a Chinese restaurant in Thailand to make money and pay off debts. Perhaps the most regretful thing in my life is leaving a state-owned enterprise, but at this point, there is no turning back.
In 1982, I was born in an ordinary peasant family in Yibin City, Sichuan. Because my family was not wealthy and my parents valued boys over girls, my two sisters had better academic performance than me, but they still gave up their qualifications to go to college at the strong request of my father. I. At that time, I felt that I was lucky, but the fate of my two sisters was not very good.
After graduating from high school, he got married one after another, and his life was very difficult, which made him feel distressed. And after I entered college, everything seemed so smooth, and it seemed that fate had always been on my side.
When I was a child, my family of five lived a very miserable life. My father worked outside all year round and only came home once a year, during the Chinese New Year. Sometimes in order to save money, it was possible not to come back for two or three years. As for what kind of life my father lived outside, I had no idea. As I grew up, I gradually understood how difficult it was for my father and vowed to work hard to make money so that the whole family could live a good life.
In our family, my two sisters have been better at studying than me since they were young, but my father is partial, and the family conditions are not good, so they can only afford to study alone, and I have the opportunity to study.
After I went to college, I had a very low self-esteem. I didn’t dare to fall in love, let alone be extravagant and wasteful. As long as it was weekends or holidays, I would definitely go out to work to earn living expenses. Those few years were very difficult, and it was also because I entered the society early, so It’s easy to adapt to the fast-paced workplace after graduation.
I studied well and joined a state-owned enterprise after graduation. My parents were very happy and thought that I would not have to worry about food and drink in my life. For my parents, I have a stable job, which is the happiest thing for the whole family. Even my two sisters are happy for me.
After joining the work, he worked conscientiously and did not dare to be careless at all. Because he was afraid of losing his job, he got up early every day and worked hard every day, hoping for an early promotion and salary increase. As I grew older, it was time to talk about marriage. Through a matchmaking process from my colleagues, I met my current wife, Xiaoye.
When I was 25 years old, my wife and I got married. We were very poor and had no decent furniture at home. I was full of confidence at that time. When I arrived in Thailand, I started working hard. Although I was unfamiliar with the B&B industry, I felt that I was inseparable and I would definitely be able to do it well. At that time, there were many domestic people traveling to Thailand, so I believed that I would be able to do it well. Can make a fortune. From one store to four stores, we have invested millions.
But starting in 2018, I felt a little powerless. Looking at the increasingly sluggish business, my friends and I were very worried. We often had to seek medical treatment for emergencies, but we could only solve temporary difficulties and wanted to change the situation in the long term. There is no such special talent.
In 2019, the losses were serious, and 3 million was lost in a few months. At that time, I thought about stopping in time, but I was unwilling to do so. What I didn't expect was that with the arrival of the epidemic in 2020, everything would be over.
Fortunately, my wife worked hard and never complained. We had no choice but to deal with several stores and opened a Chinese restaurant to make ends meet. We did not dare to spend a penny of the money we earned every month and used it all to pay off debts. Sometimes I think that in a year or two, after paying off the debt, I can go back to China and find a job, and work down-to-earth without worrying my wife and children.
