The 14th Aerospace Laurel Award was announced recently, and two Xiamen University people won the "Lifetime Dedication Award." They are Yin Zeyong, dean of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Xiamen University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Chen Yijian, an alumnus of Xiamen University and academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Yin Zeyong has served as the dean of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics of Xiamen University since April 2015, leading the school on the development path of "renovating the old industry and catching up from behind". Yin Zeyong has created a number of "firsts": presided over the development of my country's first type of advanced turbofan engine with large bypass ratio completely independently developed, the first type of advanced turboshaft engine that was completely independently developed and used in large quantities, and the first type The turbofan engine designed and used in batches and the first-type advanced transmission system independently developed and used in batches have made significant contributions to the development of my country's aviation power technology. He and his team have gone through the entire process of pre-research, technical research, engineering development, and application development independently for decades; he installed a strong Chinese "heart" on the domestic war eagle, breaking the monopoly and blockade of Western countries, and breaking out of independence. The Chinese way of developing turboshaft engines.
Yin Zeyong gave a speech after the award. He said that in the past half a century, he has been fortunate to witness the faster and faster development of my country's aviation power industry. This is not only the historical requirement of the rejuvenation of the great power, but also the historical responsibility of aviation power people. As a scientific and technological worker on this front, under the general trend of radical changes in the old international pattern and the surging new wave of science and technology, we must follow the unified deployment and work hard to further accelerate the development of independent innovation in my country’s aviation power industry. In the future, it will enter the advanced ranks of aerodynamics.
Chen Yijian, who was awarded the same award as Yin Zeyong, is an alumnus of Xiamen University's 1949 aviation department. The former chief designer of the First Aircraft Design and Research Institute of the Aviation Industry has always worked hard on aircraft design and research. He has contributed his prosperous years and wisdom to the design and development of aircraft models such as Jianjiao 1, Chujiao 6, Qiang 5, Yun 7, and "Flying Leopard". The
Aerospace Laurel Award was established in 2005 to commend the units and individuals that have made outstanding achievements in the process of national scientific and technological development and national defense construction in the aerospace field. A total of 12 awardees and teams won seven awards including "Technology Pioneer", "Great Power Craftsman" and "Lifetime Dedication".
