26, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that earlier that day, Ukraine used drone to launch an attack on the Engels Air Force Base in Saratov Oblast, Russia. Russia stated that the Ukrainian drone was shot down by Russian air defense forces as it approached the base at low altitude. However, the debris produced after the drone was destroyed killed three Russian soldiers. The Russian Defense Ministry added that the attack launched by the Ukrainian army did not cause damage to Russian military aircraft deployed at Engels Air Force Base. According to earlier reports by foreign media, in early December, the Ukrainian army used drones to launch an attack on Engels Air Force Base. According to Ukrainian statements at the time, the attack caused damage to two Russian Tu-95 strategic bombers.

Engels Air Force Base is an important base for the Russian strategic bomber force, deploying Tu-95 and Tu-160 strategic bombers. Such an important air force base was attacked twice in a month. Once it caused damage to the Russian strategic bomber , and once it cost Russia the lives of three soldiers. Moreover, the airport is 700 kilometers away from the Russian-Ukrainian border, and Ukrainian drones operate 700 kilometers deep into the Russian hinterland. It can be seen that the Russian air defense system has great loopholes, and the Ukrainian military has been able to break through its air defense system and attack it. Considering that the Russian army launched a large-scale air strike on targets in Ukraine on the 25th, this action by the Ukrainian army was obviously a retaliatory counterattack. Such actions by the Ukrainian army will inevitably further stimulate the situation between Russia and Ukraine. With Russia's temper, it will inevitably retaliate against Ukraine again in the future. As a result, the war between the two sides will become more intense, and the situation will also spiral upward with the continuous retaliation from both sides.

Furthermore, the Ukrainian army has carried out multiple raids on Russia’s rear in recent times, which shows that Ukraine’s counterattack capabilities are steadily improving. With the support of advanced weapons from the United States and Western countries, Ukraine has actually gradually got rid of the situation of being passively attacked, and has also begun an appropriate counterattack against Russia. At the same time, Ukraine's air defense capabilities are also constantly improving, and the United States has promised to provide Ukraine with the "Patriot" air defense system. After Ukraine is equipped with "Patriot", its defense capabilities against Russian missiles will inevitably be stronger. From this perspective, the test Russia faces will become increasingly severe. At the same time, we must also note that the scope of the Russia-Ukraine conflict is constantly expanding. In the early stages of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the two sides were limited to confrontations on the frontal battlefield. After that, it developed to the point where they attacked each other's important infrastructure, and now they are conducting air strikes on each other's rear areas. It can be seen that the war is constantly getting out of control.

Ukraine is now determined to fight Russia to the end. Zelensky is not willing to negotiate with Russia at all. The prerequisite for negotiations is that Russia returns all its interests in Ukraine and withdraws its troops. Even and Crimea must be returned. This is almost impossible. Russia spent so much money, ignored the warnings and sanctions of the entire Western society, and launched this war. In the end, it gained nothing and even spit out Crimea. How is this possible? Russia will never agree to such conditions, and there is no possibility of reconciliation between the two parties. Against this background, subsequent conflicts will continue and even become more tragic. Because the two sides are bound to accumulate greater conflicts and hatred in their attacks on each other.

In this way, both sides will understand that if they want to end this conflict, they must completely defeat the other side, and the battle on the battlefield will naturally become more and more intense. And as the Ukrainian army continues to attack the Russian army's rear, Russia will also understand that there is no way to guard against thieves for a thousand days. If you want to truly solve the problem, you must launch a ruthless and comprehensive attack on Ukraine. Russia will inevitably strengthen its military preparations in the future and is likely to launch a large-scale attack on Ukraine. Only in this way can Russia deter Ukraine from acting rashly. Otherwise, it will be difficult to maintain a safe environment in Russia's rear. This is not good news for Ukraine. A blow to Russia's rear will boost morale from the Ukrainian side, but it will make Ukraine pay a greater price.

After all, every time Russia strikes back against Ukraine, it will suffer heavy losses. Some large cities in Ukraine are already facing the danger of water and power outages. If this continues, the harm to the Ukrainian people will become greater and greater. I hope Ukraine can understand the situation clearly. One or two attacks on Russia will not change the situation of the war, but will only stimulate the development of the situation. What Ukraine can do is to express goodwill, manage differences, and conduct peaceful negotiations with Russia, so that it can stop losses in a timely manner.
