According to observer website , on December 23, US Secretary of State Brin made a call request to my country, and our Foreign Minister Wang Yi had a phone call with him as requested.
During this call, Foreign Minister Wang Yi discussed the current situation of relations between China and the United States and emphasized two points to Blinken. The United States cannot want dialogue while containing China; it cannot talk about cooperation while stabbing China.
From a Chinese perspective, this is not reasonable competition but unreasonable suppression by the United States. The United States should stop its old routine of unilateral bullying against China. China did not accept this approach before, and will not adopt this approach in the future.

In addition, Foreign Minister Wang Yi also emphasized to Blinken that the United States cannot continue to challenge China's red lines by "slicing sausages".
To be clear, what Foreign Minister Wang Yi means is that the United States should stop testing the bottom line of mainland China on the Taiwan Strait issue. We know that in international affairs, the United States has always adopted the approach of "maximum pressure" to force other countries to make substantive concessions.
On the Taiwan Strait issue, although the US government has always claimed that Washington adheres to the one-China principle, they have been doing things that undermine cross-strait relations.

U.S. President Biden
The 2023 government budget just passed by the U.S. Congress is a good example. The budget includes a provision that the United States can provide US$10 billion in "military financing" to the Taiwan authorities over five years.
This fully reflects the sinister intentions of the United States in using Taiwan to contain China. Through this move, the United States wants to sell more weapons to the Taiwan authorities, prompt the Taiwan authorities to develop defense capabilities, and make it more difficult for the People's Liberation Army to "attack Taiwan."
But as we all know, the core content of the three joint communiqués and on the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the United States is that the United States should "severe diplomatic relations, abrogate treaties, and withdraw troops" from the Taiwan authorities. Therefore, in accordance with the spirit of the three joint communiques, the United States should stop selling weapons to the Taiwan authorities.

But the facts in recent decades have made us realize that the United States is a country with no credibility at all. Arms sales to Taiwan have become a tradition for successive U.S. governments. In the past two years since the Biden administration took office, the United States has sold seven more batches of weapons to the Taiwan authorities.
my country has expressed its solemn protest against the US government. Anyone with a discerning eye knows that this will not be conducive to Blinken’s trip to China. However, the U.S. government has no intention of correcting its mistakes. They just want to continue "slicing sausages" on the Taiwan Strait issue and realize their ambition to contain mainland China step by step.
In order to cover itself, the US government has made extensive preparations for arms sales to Taiwan. They know that the fact that China and the United States issued three joint communiques is a fact they cannot deny.

So they thought of the crooked trick of "using new methods to explain old laws". With the collusion between the U.S. Congress and the White House , the Biden administration introduced the so-called "Taiwan Relations Act" and included legal provisions related to arms sales to Taiwan.
What makes people even more angry is that the US government openly announced that the "Taiwan Relations Act" has a higher priority than the "three joint communiques" between China and the United States.
This behavior of the United States is a blatant violation of international norms. This shows us that even if the United States makes a commitment to something in the form of legislation, it does not have the slightest bit of credibility.

U.S. Congress
In addition to arms sales to Taiwan, the U.S. government is also trying to intervene in the Taiwan Strait issue in a variety of ways and provoke cross-strait confrontation. Since this year, the US government has proposed that the Taiwan authorities should be positioned as a "non-NATO military ally" of the United States and allow the Taiwan authorities to join more international organizations.
Moreover, the US government is also trying to make a fuss about status. They want to change the status of the Taiwan authorities from a region to a "country" at the diplomatic level. Despite our strong protests, this series of premeditated plans by the United States did not come true.
But we can also see from here that the United States has been trying to sow cross-strait relations and constantly trying to break through the bottom line drawn by mainland China on the Taiwan Strait issue.

The ugly face of the United States has long been known to the world. From the perspective of Washington, the US government's actions to suppress China are only part of the "reasonable competition" between China and the United States. The United States positions China as its "biggest geopolitical competitor" and states that China-US relations will be "competition first, cooperation second."
In this regard, Foreign Minister Wang Yi has clearly pointed out that this action of the US government is a unilateral and unreasonable suppression of China. It is worth noting that the United States’ suppression and containment of China has penetrated into all aspects of exchanges.
Just like the environmental protection issue that Blinken most wants to communicate with China, the United States hopes that China can continue to increase its efforts to reduce emissions and make more contributions to global climate issues.

But in fact, the US government wants to curb China's development through environmental protection issues. "Emission rights" are equivalent to "development rights." We clearly see the sinister intentions of the US government. So after Pelosi came to Taiwan, we reasonably stopped the climate negotiation mechanism between China and the United States.
It is foreseeable that Blinken’s visit to China will be difficult to improve Sino-US relations on a practical level. Facing the United States, we must give up all unrealistic illusions and be prepared to fight at any time.
