The "Strategic Plan for Expanding Domestic Demand (2022-2035)" recently issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council proposes to implement a gradual extension of the statutory retirement age in the 28th article "Continuously Optimizing the Primary Distribution Pattern" in the ninth part of "Solidly Promoting Common Prosperity and Fostering the Development Potential of Domestic Demand".
This is after last year's national "14th Five-Year Plan", the "14th Five-Year Plan" on human resources and social security, and the "14th Five-Year Plan" earlier this year on the national development of the elderly and the elderly care service system and other important documents. The central government has once again clearly proposed "implementing a progressive delay in the statutory retirement age" .
So everyone said, delayed retirement and is really coming, so close and so fast. Although it was only a delay and was not immediately available at once, this topic immediately attracted everyone's attention, including Lao Zhang, who was self-employed.
In fact, a few years ago, self-employed Lao Zhang talked to Swordsman about this issue of delayed retirement. He said that whether it is a gradual delayed retirement or a one-step delayed retirement, veterans like him do not want it, or "don't like it."

Lao Zhang is already over fifty. Due to age, professional and other reasons, his employment path after retirement has not been smooth. Although through his own hard work, his financial income is relatively stable now, but every time he thinks about how many years it will take to retire, and how many more years he will need to pay social security before he can enjoy retirement life, it makes him feel some inexplicable pressure, and it also makes him think "wait a minute" and "take a break". The idea of taking a break instantly lost the motivation. “For self-employed veterans, no matter how many years they have to delay retirement, it means longer work and more pressure. They are still several years away from retirement,” he said. I envy those comrades who were placed in , a public institution of , and I also regret my choice at the time. "If I had not been so persistent and resolutely chose to have a job arranged by the government, then no matter whether I delay retirement or how long I delay it, it will have little impact on me. It's a pity. There is no chance to regret! "
Among Lao Zhang's envy and regret, there is also a lot of helplessness and self-encouragement, but not everyone has this mentality and reaction. Sergeant Liu, who was preparing to go to the moon, suddenly felt an inexplicable joy in his heart.
Why? He said that delaying retirement means that the value of his choices increases month by month. For him, the later the retirement time, the better.

Liu’s judgment naturally has his reasons. The "Measures for the Resettlement of Retired Soldiers on Monthly Retirement Benefits" clearly states: If retired soldiers who receive monthly retirement benefits have served for 10 years in the Tibet Autonomous Region or Category III or above difficult and remote areas, are resettled in the above-mentioned areas, and pay basic pension insurance premiums in accordance with regulations, they will be given regional subsidies before reaching the national legal retirement age .
If a person has no actual working and living situation in the above-mentioned areas for more than 12 consecutive months before reaching the national statutory retirement age, or his/her household registration has moved out of the above-mentioned areas, the regional subsidy will be suspended from next month.
Retired soldiers who receive retirement pensions on a monthly basis, when they reach the national statutory retirement age, will retain a certain proportion of the monthly retirement pensions (including subsidies for difficult and remote areas), and will pay them for life according to regulations starting from the next month. Among them, those who have served as officers or sergeants for 16 years will retain 20%. The retention ratio will increase by 1% for every additional year, and the retention ratio will decrease by 1% for every less year. The retention ratio shall not exceed 25%. For those who serve in areas above 3,500 meters above sea level and are placed in such areas, the retention ratio will increase by 1% for each year of service in such areas, up to a maximum of 10%.
Did you see that, for veterans who receive retirement pensions month by month, the national statutory retirement age is not simply a change in retirement time and security methods, but also the length of time for full payment of retirement pensions and the length of time for regional subsidies.
Because after reaching the statutory retirement age in the New Year, monthly comrades can only retain part of their retirement pay, and regional subsidies will also be stopped. Therefore, delaying retirement has a positive meaning for them, and at least they can receive retirement pay for a while longer. Delay one year and receive one more year. Naturally, Liu and many retired soldiers welcome the delay in retirement.

delayed retirement, some people are happy and some are sad.
Some comrades-in-arms prefer it, such as retired soldiers who receive retirement pensions monthly. Because they can extend the time to enjoy related benefits, they hope or have no objection.
There are also people who don’t care, such as retired soldiers who choose their own careers, veterans who have been resettled or have jobs arranged by the government. For them, because social security contributions are guaranteed by their employer, and their work intensity, environment, etc. have little impact on their age, and extending their retirement time can also increase the time they can enjoy related benefits, they have an indifferent attitude towards extending their retirement age, whether it is delayed or not.
However, some comrades-in-arms do not like it. Among them, the main ones are self-employed retired soldiers, self-employed retired soldiers, demobilized officers, etc. For them, because career stability and security are relatively weak, and their jobs have higher age and physical health requirements, they sincerely hope to retire early, or at least on time. As for delaying retirement, although from another perspective it can extend career life and increase income, it is more of a pressure. After all, they basically pay their own social security. Delaying for a few years not only means continuing to pay social security, but also having to continue working hard. For many retired soldiers in their 50s and 60s, it is a bit difficult and powerless, and naturally they don’t like it or look forward to it.
Some people say that it seems that the impact of delayed retirement on military personnel only occurs after retirement, and often involves post-retirement benefits, employment, etc. In fact, it is wrong. Once the delayed retirement is in place in the future, it will still have an impact on you who have not yet retired in the military camp.
For example, when delayed retirement is implemented, everyone may have new starting points and perspectives in choosing retirement placement methods. Especially when it comes to whether to be self-employed or to have a job arranged by the government, many people may be more inclined to have a job arranged by the government because the retirement age is extended, so as to enjoy a calm and stable life.
Also, because the standard conditions for work arranged by the government on a monthly basis are relatively strict and higher, there are also higher requirements for military experience, honors, etc. This actually motivates and encourages everyone to serve for a long time and make more contributions, so that they can get more choices.
Finally, it also includes personal military career planning, retirement time, choice of resettlement place, direction of employment and entrepreneurship, etc. Delayed retirement will affect our mentality and perspective in various ways, allowing us to make corresponding choices.

Of course, with the gradual implementation of delayed retirement, the swordsman believes that the standards and conditions for retirement in the military camp may also be modified and improved, just like the unification of the marriage age for military and civilians. Perhaps along with our tradition of 55 years old and 30 years of military service, it will be appropriately extended. Very likely.
A soldier who is preparing to be self-employed in the future said that he will definitely catch up with delayed retirement, so he revised his retirement plan from self-employment to relying on good policies to "take the exam". "It doesn't matter how many years it is delayed after the exam is successful."
An officer said that the policy of delayed retirement will inevitably have a certain impact on the army and soldiers. Not only will the standards and conditions for retirement change, but also the use, training, and planning of talents will be tested. Is
a wolf or a tiger? Is it good or bad? Is it an opportunity or a challenge? We can only speculate and think about everything now. I believe that there will be corresponding supporting measures introduced in the future, so that you in the military camp will have a sense of direction and a sense of security. For those of you and me who have retired, we must either respect recognition and prepare for the impact of delayed retirement, or improve ourselves and change our destiny to minimize the impact.
Someone once evaluated various resettlement methods from the perspective of retirement. Self-employment, demobilization, etc. mean that one aims and thinks about retirement after retirement and prepares for retirement; having a job arranged by the government and changing jobs means waiting for retirement; and choosing one's job month by month means directly entering the "retirement" state after retirement.
Some time ago, some comrades suggested that all retired soldiers retire early as " special types of work ". The swordsman knows that such a suggestion is difficult to implement, but he can also read the expectations of these retired soldiers for retirement.
Delayed retirement is coming, and it is related to soldiers, military camps and even military families. We really need to think carefully about our situation and make supporting work and related preparations to minimize the impact of delayed retirement on everyone.
