At this time, after achieving such a great victory, the Japanese Navy naturally did not take the US Navy and Air Force seriously, but they were also worried that the United States would build enough aircraft carriers and the warship in the next few years to threaten the security of the Japanese Navy in the ocean. Prepare to take the opportunity to occupy Midway and establish a fortress, thus reaching the point of threatening Pearl Harbor and the United States.
Although the Japanese army's idea is pretty good, they seriously underestimated the strength of the US military. The battle ended in less than three days. The final result was not only completely beyond the expectations of the Japanese army, but even the US military did not expect that it could fight such a beautiful battle when it suffered a loss of combat power.
During this battle, the Japanese army dispatched 4 aircraft carriers, 25 ships, and nearly 400 aircraft. As for the US army, only 3 aircraft carriers, 7 ships, 230 carrier-based aircraft and 172 land-based aircraft. Except for the similar number of aircraft, the rest are at a disadvantage. As for the final result, four Japanese aircraft carriers, heavy cruiser Mikuma and 332 military aircraft were sunk, killing nearly 3,057 people. On the other hand, except for the sinking of an aircraft carrier, the destroyer, the Harman, and the sinking of 98 military aircraft, there were basically no other losses. As for the casualties, there were 307 people, which was one-tenth of the death toll in Japan.
