Fifty years ago, at the Qiaoyu construction site where the battle was in full swing, among the numerous rack trucks people pulling earth, a young man could be seen every day. The most conspicuous person pulling a frame truck filled with soil clods was the most conspicuous person over half a hundred years ago. He was praised every day on the radio from the Engineering Command Headquarters, Fan Zhiguo, an old Red Army member of our Nanguan Engineering Company in Liuzhi Camp.

Fan Zhiguo was originally from Ningxia. He was born in a poor family and joined the Red Army at a very young age. He followed the troops to fight in the north and south and participated in many battles. Once, his intestines were damaged during a battle, and later he had a dog's intestines cut off. Even before his death, shrapnel from the war years remained on his head. Because he was gloriously injured in the battle to liberate Huashan, he ended up staying in the Huayin Honorary Military Nursing Home.

Mr. Fan Zhiguo was introduced by someone in 1954. After getting married, he settled in Nanguan Village, Liuzhi Town, , Huazhou, and worked in the Nanyi Production Team at that time.

After he got married, he was diligent, hard-working and meticulous in everything he did. At that time, whenever the production team had labor dispatched to build rivers, dams, and farmland infrastructure, he would always rush to the front with his original heroic military appearance; especially at the construction site of the Qiaoyu Reservoir project, he was such a tall man. This young man who is not tall, has a yellow face, wears a waistcoat, and wears plain patched clothes, is no less attractive than other young men. He pulled a frame truck filled with soil blocks and flew all the way at lightning speed. The amount of earthwork he completed finally ranked among the top. As soon as the loudspeaker of the county engineering headquarters opened, it was Fan Zhiguo of Liu Jiying who took the lead again and called for All the laborers on the construction site learned from him, and his name and deeds suddenly spread throughout the Qiaoyu construction site. Everyone knew that there was an old Red Army soldier in Liu Jiying who worked hard. He has also become our benchmark and flag in Willow Branch Camp and even in the entire construction site.

Fan Zhiguo died of illness in October 1979 at the age of sixty-five due to the injuries and illnesses he suffered during the war when he was young, coupled with the heavy physical labor in the countryside and the hardship of family life. At that time, the brigade commune and relevant county departments sent wreaths and sent people to pay tribute to this old Red Army people's hero.

It has been more than 40 years since Fan Zhiguo passed away. Throughout his life, it was not so much that he was accompanied by suffering and ordinaryness, but it undoubtedly showed his greatness!

His silent dedication, without expecting anything in return, and taking credit without being proud, left precious spiritual wealth to us and future generations.
