Recently, according to diplomatic documents and people familiar with the matter, the United States is currently accelerating the deployment of more accurate tactical nuclear weapons to NATO bases in Europe, and transporting the first batch of B61-12 upgraded nuclear bombs to Europe in advance. Regarding this situation, Russian Ambassador to the United States, Antonov, said that despite the limited power of B61-12, it is strategic to deploy it in Europe because it takes a very short time to fly to the Russian border. In view of this, Russia warned the United States that it should transport all nuclear weapons deployed abroad back to its country and dismantle the infrastructure for storing and using these nuclear weapons.
On the surface, the United States also deployed nuclear weapons in Europe in the past, but it is not too strange to update now. But the problem is precisely that the time period is too sensitive and the process is too deliberate. At present, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict continues to intensify, and the risk of spreading the battlefield has increased significantly. All parties are worried that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict has evolved into a conflict between Russia and NATO. In addition, the Zaporotherapeutic Nuclear Power Plant incident, the dirty bomb incident, and NATO Russia's strategic nuclear military exercises have all exposed huge nuclear risks. Under such circumstances, Biden and dared to commit crimes against the wind and accelerated the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe, which is undoubtedly a huge risk factor.
Why Biden insists on accelerating the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons in Europe under such a tense situation is actually not difficult to analyze. First, increase strategic deterrence against the Russian army. At present, although Russia has repeatedly issued warnings, demanding that NATO stop aiding Ukraine. However, the NATO military group led by the United States still refuses to listen to advice and hopes to give Ukraine aid and increase pressure on Russia. This situation, even if the Russian army entered Belarus , there was no improvement at all, and instead made NATO more radical. Specifically, the 101st Airborne Division of the US military arrived in , Romania, and NATO is actively strengthening its military strength in the East Flank region. This all reveals that the United States, led by NATO countries, has increased their strategic deterrence against Russia, making the Russian military dare not act rashly. This accelerated deployment of tactical nuclear weapons may also be considered in this regard.
Second, strengthen strategic binding to Europe. At present, due to the impact of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the relationship between EU and the United States is actually becoming increasingly worse. The core problem is that while the United States requires the EU to increase sanctions on Russia, it also sells natural gas at a high price to EU countries to make huge profits in energy, and at the same time uses its policy advantages to attract European companies to move out of the United States. At the same time, it increases support for American companies, forming an unfair competitive advantage for European companies. A series of operations have made the EU count tightly. This oppression has long caused dissatisfaction among European politicians and the people. French President Macron publicly criticized the United States, and German Chancellor scholtz also stated that he would establish his own army of the EU. Under such circumstances, if the United States wants to maintain its invisible control over the EU, it can only adopt hard-core measures and deploy tactical nuclear weapons, which undoubtedly makes it increasingly difficult for the EU to get rid of the shackles of NATO.
3, prevent possible outbreaks of conflicts. Although from the current point of view, the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is still a bit far from the conflict between NATO and Russia. The main purpose of the US deployment is a greater threat to Russia. But neither Biden nor Putin and actually cannot predict the future trend. Under such circumstances, the United States is also afraid that Russia will take action. Now that it is deploying tactical nuclear weapons in advance, it is precisely a prevention for Russia.
The former Cuban missile crisis seriously threatens the strategic security of the United States and forces White House to jump in a hurry; now the United States deploys tactical nuclear weapons in Europe, there is no big difference in nature, but the Biden administration still wants to do this, which is really too radical. It is naturally not surprising that it triggers a strong reaction from Russia.What is more worthy of attention is that if the current dirty bomb storm really breaks out, or if the Zaporo thermonuclear power plant is really leaked, will the chain reaction caused by this emergencies involve the United States and Russia in the nuclear storm? This is something the whole world must be highly vigilant and pay attention to.
