First, large. This "Asagi" is not an ordinary big one. The "Shunguang" class to which "Asagi" belongs is a 6,000-ton class. Although there are currently large-tonnage patrol ships in service in Japan, including the 7,000-ton PLH. -33 Reimei class, but the Reimei class can only carry one helicopter at most, while the Asagi can carry 2, so to a certain extent, the Asagi can be called the "largest" patrol ship in active service in Japan .
The second point is helicopter. As I just said, the special thing about the "Asagi" is that it is also equipped with two large helicopters. You know, helicopters are the most expensive assets in the patrol ship's supporting equipment. Japan can be said to have spent money on this this time. In addition, the "Asagi" will also be equipped with 40 mm and 20 mm caliber artillery , which is lethal and capable of combat!

Starting from that year, the Japan Coast Guard set up a departmental system called the "Senkaku Sea Area Security System", and the so-called "Senkaku Main Island" in Japan is our country's Diaoyu Island and its affiliated islands.
The "Senkaku Sea Security System" plan includes equipping two Tsugaru-class PLH helicopter patrol ships and 10 1,000-ton PL-type patrol ships. This "Asagi" is the fourth one built so far, and Japan will build another one next year. Does it taste like this now? This patrol boat is here for our Diaoyu Islands!
Japan, which was originally supposed to only have a "self-defense force," is now constantly looking for various reasons to expand its armaments. Japan's ambitions cannot be underestimated. But we in China are not afraid. We have an idiom called "preparing for a rainy day." China's 10,000-ton coast guard ship 2901 has been deployed in the East China Sea in advance, with a full load displacement of 12,000 tons, twice that of the Asagi. In October last year, the 10,000-ton maritime patrol ship and sea patrol 09 joined the law enforcement sequence. As long as Japanese fishing boats illegally enter the territorial waters of the Diaoyu Islands, Chinese coast guard ships will carry out on-site law enforcement in accordance with the law to safeguard my country's sovereignty.
We have an advantage in terms of tonnage, and Japan cannot compare with us in terms of quantity. The models of coast guard ships that have appeared in our country for law enforcement in Diaoyu Island waters include "Coast Guard 2101", "Coast Guard 1126", and "Coast Guard 2350" ", "Coast Guard 2506", as well as Coast Guard 2307 and Coast Guard 2305 fleets patrolled within the territorial waters of the Diaoyu Islands. More importantly, since last year, the equipment of the China Coast Guard has been greatly upgraded. Most coast guard patrol boats have been equipped with 76mm rapid-fire naval guns. Compare the 40mm and 20mm caliber guns on the "Asagi" with us. , it’s really not enough.
