According to the official website of the US Treasury Department, the Office of Overseas Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department announced on the 10th sanctions and Iranian Communications Industries (ICI), a military company under the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics (MODAFL) of Iran. Six related companies and four individuals claimed that the network of these companies and individuals facilitated the procurement of sensitive goods (including electronic components made in the United States) by the Iranian Communications Industry (ICI). are DES International Co., Ltd. in Taiwan, Soltech Industry Co., Ltd. in Brunei, and Iran in Iran. Communications Industry (ICI) subsidiary Hoda Trading, Hong Kong-based Proma Industry Co., Ltd, Naz Technology Co., Ltd, based in Mainland China, and Iranian company Artin San'at Tabaan Company. are Chin-Hua Huang (Transliteration) and Shih Mei (Amber) Sun, employees of Desal International, Mohammad Soltanmohammadi, the largest shareholder of Desal International, and Mohammad Banihashemi, an employee of Soltec.
Proma Industry is alleged to have facilitated the transportation of goods to Hoda Trading and helped Hoda Trading sell and transport goods worth tens of thousands of dollars. The owner of Naz Technology Co., Ltd is believed to be Mohammad Soltanmohammadi, who is also considered to be a director of Saltke. OFAC stated that as of July 2017, Hoda Trading had paid Soltek tens of thousands of dollars for purchases. For electronic parts, Saltke has delivered large quantities of goods to Iran through freight forwarders.
The United States has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Chinese companies for being associated with Iran. On October 29, OFAC announced sanctions on eight entities from Iran, Singapore and China, claiming that the former were involved in the sale of Iranian petrochemical products represented by a petrochemical company previously sanctioned by the United States. In September, the US Treasury Department included 6 companies from Iran, the UAE and China on the list of sanctioned entities. In May, the United States announced sanctions on a logistics company based in Shanghai, China, which allegedly cooperated with Iran Mahan Airlines, which was blacklisted by the United States.
In this regard, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zhao Lijian has emphasized that China urges the United States to immediately lift relevant illegal sanctions and will be firmly committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of domestic enterprises. China has always opposed unilateral sanctions and so-called long-arm jurisdiction by the US. For a long time, all parties in the international community have conducted friendly cooperation with Iran within the framework of international law, which is reasonable and legal, and deserves respect and protection. China urges the United States to immediately lift relevant illegal sanctions and will be firmly committed to safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of domestic enterprises.
