The attack on the "North Stream" pipeline is finally coming to light. The Russian side suddenly announced the real murderer of the "North Stream" pipeline explosion, targeting the Royal Navy, and the British Ministry of Defense issued an emergency statement to deny it.
According to Global Times , on October 29 local time, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Konashenkov said at a press conference that officials from the Royal Navy participated in the damage to the "North Stream" natural gas pipeline that occurred in September. Konashenkov first pointed out that on the 29th, armed personnel from the 73rd Maritime Special Operations Center of the Ukrainian Armed Forces used 16 drones to attack Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet ships and civilian ships located in Sevastopol . This force received training from British Royal Navy officials in Ochakif, Ukraine. Immediately afterwards, Konashenkov changed his tone and said, "According to the existing information, this Ukrainian force carried out a sabotage operation against the 'North Stream' natural gas pipeline on September 26, and personnel from the British Royal Navy guided the daily training of the Ukrainian troops and planned the natural gas pipeline attack."
As we all know, on September 26 local time, Russia suffered multiple leaks to the main European gas pipelines " Nord Stream-1" and " Nord Stream-2". The cause of the pipeline leakage accident became "Rashomon" for a time, and both Russia and Ukraine had their own arguments. Although Russia did not name the United States, without the Western "leader" nodding in agreement, Britain might not dare to make such a big move.
It is worth mentioning that after the Russian side named the Royal Navy in the incident of destroying the "North Stream" pipeline, the British Ministry of Defense immediately issued a statement on the same day stating that the British army did not participate in the activities of destroying the "North Stream" natural gas pipeline.But this short statement obviously cannot dispel the international community's doubts about the British response.
