On December 4, 2012, less than a month after the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China closed, General Secretary Xi Jinping presided over the meeting of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee and reviewed and passed the "Eight Regulations of the Political Bureau of the 18th CPC Central Committee on Improving Work Style and Maintaining Close Contact with the People".
This document with more than 600 words has set iron rules for strengthening work style construction from eight aspects: investigation and research, conference activities, document briefings, visit activities, guard work, news reports, manuscript publication, and thrift.
Eight regulations have opened up a change in the style of the Communist Party of China to eliminate the turbidity and promote the good. Over the past ten years, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has solved the problem with rock-solid determination and perseverance from formulating and implementing the eight central regulations, and persisting in strengthening work style construction.
"We must strengthen education and guidance, pay attention to breaking and establishing at the same time, grasp the 'key minority', and promote leading cadres at all levels to consciously assume leadership responsibilities and demonstration responsibilities, put themselves, put their thoughts, and put their work into it, form the 'leader effect'." data shows that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as of the end of April 2022, the national discipline inspection and supervision agencies have investigated and dealt with 723,000 cases of violations of the spirit of the Central Eight Regulations, and imposed 644,000 party discipline and administrative sanctions. The unhealthy trends that the people hate deeply have been effectively curbed.
From cleaning out office spaces that exceed the standard, eating and drinking for public funds, traveling for public funds, to curbing "sky-high mooncakes", "sky-high tobacco and alcohol", "waste on the tongue"...
