According to the Russian TV Today website (RT) on the 27th, citing CNN CNN, the US CIA Director William Burns went to Ukraine in secret earlier this month to hold talks with Ukraine President Zelensky and other officials. During the talks, Burns reiterated the United States' long-term commitment to support Ukraine.

Report said an unnamed U.S. official told CNN that "he (referring to Burns) had emphasized the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine against Russia, including continuing to share intelligence." The source declined to provide more details about the surprise visit.
RT reported that Burns last visited Ukraine at the beginning of this year, before the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. The visits highlighted the intelligence-sharing relationship between the United States and Ukraine, RT said. Mark Warner, chairman of the U.S. Senate Intelligence Committee, said last month that such cooperation has helped the Ukrainian army make "huge progress" on the battlefield. He added that both the U.S. and British intelligence officers were “working with the Ukrainians” and praised “the strength of our united military intelligence.”
RT reported that Burns' trip comes as Western officials hype that Russia may use low-equivalent tactical nuclear weapons, but Burns had previously poured cold water on these predictions. He told CBS in early October that although he looked at the risk of nuclear conflict “very serious”, the “imminent threat of using tactical nuclear weapon ” remains low. (Editor: HHJ)
