Biden, the leader of the Democratic Party in 2020, sent a clear message to the American people: President Donald Trump’s foreign policy is uniquely dangerous.
Before giving a speech in New York on Thursday, Biden will explain his views on foreign policy in his speech. The former vice president released a video criticizing Trump for handling world affairs.
The video shows the five core elements that Biden calls "Trumpism":
"Embrace the dictator" : Biden said in the video that Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un "fell in love", claiming that he believes that Russian President Putin said he did not interfere in the 2016 U.S. election, and attacked Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for insisting He has nothing to do with the murder of Saudi journalist Khashoggi.
"Threat War": From the 2018 Trump Twitter screenshots, it can be seen that if Iran threatens the United States again, he promised to impose " Almost no one in history has suffered the consequences".
"Tear the international agreement" : through Trump in 2018 announcing withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement, and in 2017 announcing that the United States would withdraw from the Paris climate protocol.
"Starting a trade war": A screenshot of a Trump tweet was posted in Biden’s video, claiming that "The trade war is very good. It’s easy to win."
"Embarrass the United States": As Microsoft NBC’s Brian Williams quoted a "senior American diplomat" It is said that Trump has maintained friendly relations with those dictators again, which shows that Trump is "the most embarrassing performance he has ever seen on the world stage."
The video ends with a close-up of Trump's face, and then cuts to a black screen, where the word "regaining American leadership" begins.
In general, Biden’s political ads will be directed at Trump, which will definitely make Democrats nod and Republicans sneer.
The problem is that it has shortcomings in two major areas.
First, it lacks any details on how the former vice president will reverse Trump’s foreign policy. This about 100-second video can actually be attributed to "Trump is bad", but it does not explain why "Biden is good".
Secondly, it ignores some of Trump's achievements on the world stage. For example, Trump destroyed the Islamic State’s “caliphate”, improved relations with the Israeli government (although it angered the Palestinians), and started peace talks with the Taliban in Afghanistan, which seemed to have achieved some results, and renegotiated and updated North American Free Trade Agreement.
