In the hot summer, the sun is like fire. When people sit in air-conditioned rooms and shades to escape the heat, the water pheasants are facing the high temperature and hatching their offspring in the bright sun. Recently, Funan County photography enthusiasts took photos of water pheasants listed in the " National Key Protected Wildlife List " (Level 2) in Wangjiaba Wetland Park.
The head and front of the neck of the water pheasant are white, and there is a very bright and dazzling golden feather on the back of the neck, like a golden scarf. The tail feathers are long like pheasant .
The "feet" of the water pheasant are very distinctive. The toes are particularly long, like a forked dead branch. This evolution is to better distribute the weight of the body, making it easier to catch aquatic plants, small fish, shrimp and other food. With beautiful body and bright feathers, it is nicknamed " Lingbo Fairy ".
Lingbo Fairy
The little water pheasant hatched more than 20 days later and emerged from its shell on its own. It can walk about half an hour after birth and follow its parent bird (male bird) for foraging activities. During this period, it has to face bad weather and attacks from some natural enemies. The growth process is not easy.
Protecting the environment and protecting wild animals is our responsibility!
