But I'm afraid many people don't know that in addition to migratory birds, there is a group of elk living in the wetland of Qilihai . This year's stunning appearance of the elk almost stole the "lift" of the Oriental White Stork.
According to Han Baoliang, deputy director of Qilihai Wetland Protection Center, Qilihai Wetland introduced 10 elks from Beijing Miluyuan in October 2011. It has been kept in a fence on Lu Island before, which can be said to be "raised in the deep boudoir and unrecognized people." Starting last year, the Qilihai Conservation Center began to try to let elks grow wildly and gradually expand their living scope. Now the traces of elks have spread throughout the Qilihai Conservation Area.
Over the past year, elks have gradually adapted to the wild living environment in the wetlands and have successfully reproduced naturally. Last spring, the elk herd gave birth to only one deer, and 4 were born this spring. Now the "deer prosperous" elk family has reached 25.
Of course, the protagonist of Qilihai is still a migratory bird. As the cold winter approaches, migratory birds are also accelerating their migration. Oriental white storks, gray herons , herons , white spoonbills , anti-billed sandpipers , swans, gray cranes , red-mash ducks , cormorants , red-billed gulls and other migratory birds recently flew to the Qilihai Wetland one after another. They rested and foraged on the reed marsh, danced graceful figures, and painted a beautiful ecological picture.
