The theme of the conference is "Design•Ecology", which includes three forms: humanistic ecology, environmental ecology and entrepreneurial ecology.
For the first time, the "Design Poverty Alleviation" initiative was issued to the world. At the opening ceremony, the General Assembly Organizing Committee, together with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the China Industrial Design Association, Mengqi Town, and relevant national and regional design industry organizations and professionals jointly issued the "Design Poverty Alleviation Declaration" for the first time.
The Declaration on Design Poverty Alleviation Initiative for international organizations, governments, and global design industries to cooperate in carrying out larger-scale and deeper design poverty alleviation work, make full use of and give full play to the design power of originality, morality, emotion and aesthetics, and take eliminating all forms of poverty as a common task, form a virtuous cycle in the economic, social and environmental fields, effectively enhance industrial vitality and life value, promote prosperity and protect the earth, and contribute to the realization of the goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Design Open University is located in Building 4, the core block of Mengqi Town, the World Industrial Design Conference. It is an important platform for Mengqi Town to connect with the international community and introduce outstanding design talents and design forces.
On September 16 last year, the Open University of Design welcomed 20 Zhejiang University students from all over the country. They came to Mengqi Town with their luggage and dreams, and started their two-year graduate study career here.

This year's TIA Design Award has received registrations from more than 5,000 units and individuals from more than 30 countries and regions around the world.
