Recently, the Shunqing District Branch of the Public Security Bureau of Nanchong City, Sichuan Province successfully cracked down on a "killing Yangpan" telecommunications network fraud gang, arrested more than 50 criminal suspects, seized more than 30 computers and more than 100 mobile phones for crimes.
In this case, the telegraph fraud group pretended to be an Asian "white and rich beauty" on a chat software called "whatsapp", "dating online with overseas netizens" and lured the victim to a fake online investment platform, and lured the victim to a false online investment platform through "early rebates, increasing profits" and other methods. First of all, telecommunications and network fraud criminal gangs are often well organized and have clear division of labor. By using internal chat software to form chat groups and publishing a large number of chat templates such as "brainwashing tools" and "classic genre chat sentences" in the chat group, gang members are trained. At the same time, using foreign mobile phone cards to fabricate an identity on overseas chat software, pretending to be a rich, beautiful woman or handsome and promising man, and after building trust by constantly adding friends, ambiguous chats, they specifically lure foreigners to download virtual currency investment platforms, induce victims to invest, and cause customers to lose money through preset rise and fall.
Since the flow of funds is not as clear as that of the domestic "pig killing" and the victims are abroad, it is difficult to recover all such fraudulent funds in most cases.
However, in the recent cases solved by the police, a telecommunications fraud gang "kills foreign pan" failed to commit fraud, and the reason for the "fall" is ridiculous!
According to the police in Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province, because the fraud group used English to commit fraud, in order to collect evidence rigorously, the Criminal Investigation Brigade specially invited four English teachers to translate the chat records on the spot. As a result, these chat records were either grammatical errors or the words were not fulfilled, which made people confused.
It turns out that the suspect just mechanically copied the sentences from the online and sent them to the other party, or translated the sentences that could express their meanings through conventional translation software and sent them to the other party. Although they are also insisting on learning basic English short sentences and downloading multiple instant translation software on everyone's computer, hoping to improve "work" efficiency. However, due to poor foreign language skills, this five-person fraud gang has not been successfully established for more than a month, but instead has paid for the cost of water, electricity, etc. for several thousand yuan.
