Haiyun Volunteer Rescue Team is the first local public welfare organization specializing in maritime rescue. In the past four years since its establishment in September 2017, it has patroled more than 8,000 nautical miles, successfully rescued 107 people, and drowned in the waters in the jurisdiction. The captain of the Haiyun Volunteer Rescue Team is Guo Aiguo. At the age of 52, he is affectionately called the "Guardian of the Sea" by the local people.

As a native of the seaside, Guo Aiguo is well aware of the dangers of the sea. Although the tourists were successfully rescued, several team members were injured. In Guo Aiguo's hometown, the coastline is 44 kilometers long and is a place surrounded by sea water. Guo Aiguo has been dealing with the sea since he was a child and has developed a good habit of water. But even so, he himself had the experience of almost being "swallowed" by the sea.

When the propeller rotated, a sand pit would form a sand pit at the stern, and some sand pits were one or two meters deep. But when we were a few years old, we didn't understand these things at all, so we went to the stern and suddenly fell into the pit.
Because the incident happened suddenly and the space in the pit was small, Guo Aiguo and his friends couldn't do anything, and they panicked for a moment. The two of them pulled each other and sank deep into the depths.
Just as consciousness gradually blurred, a pair of powerful hands caught them from the sea.
It was this experience of being rescued that planted a seed of "save people" in the heart of the young Guo Aiguo. As he grew older, Guo Aiguo became more and more aware of the ruthlessness of the sea. Kanmen Housha is a natural "big swimming pool", and drowning accidents occur frequently.

We must have scientific plans and reliable equipment. After all, rescuers cannot take risks in doing charity. Not long after joining the team, a young man trapped in the reef group made Guo Aiguo deeply realize the big problem of "funding".

When the second echelon came, they drove a rubber boat. It had a shallow draft and floated on the water surface, so it was more convenient for it to come.

My family's funds are all under my control. For the sake of this rescue team, I wanted to buy this equipment, but she would not agree at that time because the amount was relatively large to 400,000 or 500,000. Then there was no way, so I borrowed some of the money from my friend.
Guo Aiguo’s wife Su Yanfen : When the Chinese New Year was approaching, his friend called and said that Lao Guo owed him one million and did not pay it back. I was shocked at that time. What’s going on? How could Lao Guo owe you so much money? Later, he asked, he took the money to buy a boat, and then bought some rescue equipment. He really didn't understand it before, and the two of them had a big conflict.
Even though he has not received support from his family, Guo Aiguo has never stopped on the road to saving people. For the development of the Haiyun Rescue Team, he gave up the seafood business that had originally had a good income and shifted his focus to the operation of the rescue team, absorbing people with relevant expertise and responsible and caring in society to join, making the team more combat-oriented.
For several years, under the leadership of Guo Aiguo, the rescue team has developed well, with patrol boats, rescue boats, charge boats and other rescue equipment. Many team members have also obtained professional life-saving certificates.
The expenses behind the rescue team are no longer his silent efforts alone. His kindness to save people infected everyone around him. Local governments, business owners and relatives and friends joined the sponsorship team and took the initiative to share the maintenance costs of about 500,000 yuan per year in the team.

Guo Aiguo and his wife have a 12-year-old daughter. At present, the family’s income source is entirely due to the small auto parts factory run by his wife. Fortunately, the income is good, which also saves Guo Aiguo from worries and can devote himself to the rescue business.
Some people say that over the years, Guo Aiguo’s experience of saving people is like a legendary story, with thrilling, touching, and warmth. In order to save others, Guo Aiguo put himself in danger countless times, but along the way, despite fears and worries, he still bravely moved forward without hesitation and stretched out his hands, just like the warm and powerful hands he pulled when he was saved as a child.

At 2:00 a.m. on August 10, 2019, after the No. 9 super typhoon "Lekima" landed, hundreds of ships in Yuhuan City all entered the port to shelter the wind. At this time, the Haiyun Volunteer Rescue Team received a call for help. A Fujian-born fishing boat lost power due to a propeller failure and was in distress in the waters around the dock. The 22 crew members on the ship were unable to get ashore and their lives were hanging on the line.

We cleared obstacles all the way, so we drove for more than two hours in 20 minutes. To be honest, we were just relying on our passion and the wind was very strong, so we drove the car down there without any consideration.
At that time, the offshore wind reached level 16, and a man with more than 90 kilograms could not stand firm. The fishing boat swung with the waves and could not be fixed, and rescue personnel could not get on board to rescue.To ensure safety, everyone parked the car forward to prevent the wind and threw the rescue rope to the crew. While the fishing boat was bumping up and down to level with the dock, they took the opportunity to pull the crew ashore.

The same impressive rescue happened one day in May 2018. Xiao Jiang and his fellow villagers went to Yuhuan Yuhuan to see the sea in the third phase of the third phase of the Yuhuan Yuhuan. They saw a piece of foam fish steak tied to the shore. They found it fun and jumped up. Unexpectedly, the fish steak could not bear the weight of the two people, and the wind and waves were too fast, so the leash broke soon. The fellow villager knew the water and swam back. Xiao Jiang was the only one left, allowing the fish steak to float to the outskirts with the wind.

His wife was holding a child in her hand and was about to kneel in front of me, saying that this was either saving her husband alone or saving her family, so I still remember it fresh. It has also become my motivation to be the rescue team. No matter how difficult it is, I still have to continue.
Over the years, Guo Aiguo has no idea how many times he has put himself in danger. Many times he has saved people and went ashore, he will be afraid, but the next time he encounters danger, he still chooses to jump into the sea to save people. He has long regarded saving people as an obligation and a responsibility.
Slowly, more and more like-minded caring people joined the rescue team. The Kanmen Corps, Damaiyu Team, and Shamen Team have ten people taking turns on duty every day, stationed at the major docks in Yuhuan.
In addition, the Haiyun Rescue Team also established a coordination group with the Yuhuan Public Security 110 Command Center. Whenever there is a dangerous situation at sea, the rescue team members will be notified to jointly carry out rescue operations to form a relatively complete emergency linkage mechanism. Since its establishment, Haiyun Volunteer Rescue Team has participated in more than 100 water rescues, more than 100 safety guarantees of various types, and more than 50 public welfare lectures.
