This year's event has a road bike elite group, a road bike men's open group, a mountain bike men's youth group, a mountain bike men's master group, a mountain bike women's open group, a parent-child balance bike group and a round-the-island cycling group, with a total of 7 groups. Among the participating teams, there are more than 25 elite teams, including the 2019 team runner-up Meridano Flying Bus Team, as well as domestic high-level road teams such as CCN Ruibao, Maijin Technology-Slipstream, and Feirui Team. It is worth noting that Pingtan's first intercontinental team, Pingtan International Tourism Island, played for the first home game in this year's Tour of the Lake. In addition, more than 20,000 bicycle enthusiasts across the country conducted online cycling simultaneously.
After fierce competition, Xu Zhaoliang from the "Melida-Nuofeike China Team" won the championship in the men's elite group of road vehicles. Pingtan International Tourism Island Intercontinental Team won the professional team championship. The champions of the road bike men's open group, the mountain bike men's youth group, the mountain bike men's master group, and the mountain bike women's open group were won by Yuan Xuezhou, Pompeilin, Chen Xiangyuan and Zhao Qin respectively.

An African athlete Knipe James Daniel from the "Phystan Team" participated in this competition for the first time and was also his first time to participate in the island competition near the coast. He said that the beautiful coastal scenery, professional organization and warm atmosphere all gave him a good impression. "The cycling roads here are of good quality and the coastline is also beautiful." Xu Xuanping, a player from Taiwan, said that the environment for sports bikes and cycling in China is good, and the overall atmosphere, event scale and publicity atmosphere are also better than that in Taiwan. During the
competition, the organizer also set up supporting activities such as cycling activities, beach camping festival, island food festival and 2022 "Ocean Knight" Photography Competition. Among them, the cycling route connects the main attractions such as Longwangtou Beach, Beigang Cultural and Creative Village, the northern ecological corridor, the Nandao Language Archaeological Research Base, the Yangtze River Ao Wind Scenic Area, the Straits Road and Rail Bridge, and Tannan Bay.
