Such a call to "encourage employees to take leave" was interpreted by the industry as a recession signal for the semiconductor industry, indirectly causing TSMC's stock price to plummet, with a drop of 4.13% on October 25.
It is reported that the employees who were encouraged to take vacation this time do not include R&D personnel with 3nm and more advanced processes. At present, mass production of 3nm production lines is still TSMC's most urgent goal.
According to previous exposures, Apple 's future M3 chip for Mac and the A17 bionic chip equipped with the iPhone 15 Pro series will be produced based on TSMC's enhanced 3nm process (N3E), which has made considerable improvements in performance and power compared to the standard 3nm process.
