Chinese dialect language phenomena are rich and diverse, and are a treasure house of academic research. Through the study of dialect grammar, we can not only deepen our understanding of the appearance of Chinese, but also provide valuable corpus for the study of syntactic theory. The syntactic theory of graphing depicts the complexity of syntactic structure in an accurate way. Using the theory of mapping to analyze dialect grammar often makes unexpected discoveries; and rich dialect corpus can also be used to verify theoretical problems. Taking Hong Kong Cantonese as an example, this lecture explores the complexity of the three syntactic levels of vocabulary, inflection, and slogans, especially the linguistic phenomena related to verb suffixes and auxiliary words at the end of sentences, and explains the importance of dialect grammar to formal syntactics.
