If the expectations are too high, I will be very disappointed. In fact, in the first two times I came to Taipei, I also had some imagination and expectations for Taiwanese food. After coming a lot, I gradually realized that the food in this place is very scattered, without the central idea, without the big dishes, without the complex taste, and there is almost no amazing feeling. After being deeply disappointed, I slowly went to another stage and felt that some things became delicious. The food in some shops seems to be a memory of some childhood, or like the food from their mothers, or the food here is full of nostalgia. So as I ate, I felt nostalgia, not only raising feelings for these foods, but also raising feelings for this place.

This time, the recommended foods are almost everything from breakfast to late-night snacks, from main meals to juices. But there is no standard Taiwanese food that often appears on variety shows, no pig blood cake, sweet and spicy braised pork rice, squid soup, because these things themselves cannot be delicious. Many of these foods are not "first bite of food". They always need to be eaten once or twice before they can understand how good they are. The environment is never in my criteria for judging restaurants, so if you want a good environment, there is almost no in this list.
