Wang Xin said that Jinan is between the Tanlu Fault Zone and the Liaokao Fault Zone, and the probability of strong destructive earthquakes is relatively small, but there is still a possibility of medium-strength earthquakes. There have been three earthquakes above magnitude 5 in Jinan history, and the most recent one was in the Ming and Qing dynasties. On February 18, 2020, a magnitude 4.1 earthquake occurred in Changqing. After this earthquake, the Jinan Earthquake Monitoring Center quickly launched the plan.
