The "epic" orders of , China's three major airlines, were eventually sold to European aircraft manufacturing giant Airbus , attracting the attention of the international community. As soon as the news came out, Boeing, the United States, complained a lot.
Foreign media analysis believes that as Boeing said, "differences in geopolitical continue to limit the export of US aircraft." If Boeing wants to keep "big customers", it must not only win the trust of product quality, but also prevent the trend of "decoupling" between China and the United States in order to prevent the US government from shooting itself in the foot.

Boeing : Geopolitical differences restrict exports
China's three major airlines China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd., China International Airlines Co., Ltd. and China Eastern Airlines Co., Ltd. issued an announcement on the 1st stating that the three companies purchased 292 A320NEO series aircraft from Airbus.
All three airlines said that Airbus has given a larger price discount. Nearly 300 aircraft are scheduled to be delivered in batches from 2023 to 2027.
Airbus responded positively to this "epic" order from the sky, saying that the new order "showed the positive recovery momentum and prosperity prospects of the Chinese aviation market."

"These new orders show our customers' strong confidence in Airbus. This is also the firm recognition of the performance, quality, fuel efficiency and sustainability of the world's leading single-aisle aircraft series," said Christian Scherer, chief commercial officer of and head of Airbus International Business, said. "We praise the outstanding work of the entire Airbus Chinese team and our customer team for their long and extensive discussions during the new crown pandemic."
Some people are happy and some are worried, and large orders "disappeared" hit Boeing in the United States.
Boeing called the matter "disappointing", saying that "geopolitical differences continue to limit U.S. aircraft exports" and urged "productive dialogue" between the United States and China.
The US government is still the largest promoter
In October 2018 and March 2019, Indonesia Lion Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines 's Boeing 737MAX series passenger planes were respectively killed, with a total of 346 people killed. Two air crashes caused the model to be grounded globally since March 2019.
On March 27th local time, the Boeing 737MAX series aircraft of Southwest Airlines was parked at Victorville Airport, known as the "aircraft cemetery". Southwest Airlines issued a statement saying that it will lower its full-year financial outlook, thus becoming the first US airline to officially lower its full-year financial outlook, and its revenue in the quarter is expected to decrease by $150 million from previous expectations. Affected by the previous Boeing 737MAX8 aircraft accident, the company has been forced to ground its new fleet of 34 Boeing 737MAX aircraft.

At that time, the Civil Aviation Administration of China put the safety of people's lives first and decisively suspended the commercial operation of the Boeing 737MAX8 aircraft, eliminating safety hazards to the greatest extent.
However, Lianhe Zaobao analyzed that the involvement of the US aircraft manufacturer Boeing in the Sino-US trade war since 2018 is a major reason for its rapid loss of China's aviation market. Boeing's statement coincides with this view.
In fact, Boeing said that "geopolitical differences restrict exports" is true. In recent years, the United States has "stumbling" to China in many fields, and even attempted to "decouple" from China:
- Political: On the one hand, the cooperation between the United States, Japan, India and Australia "QUAD" against China has been further deepened; on the other hand, I2-U2 (India, Israel, The intentions of the United States and the UAE) meeting are unknown;
——Economic: From the Sino-US trade war that broke out in 2018 to the " Indo-Pacific Economic Framework " (IPEF) that US President Biden vigorously promotes and attempts to surround China;
——Military: The "strategic concept document" of the defensive organization NATO regards China as a "systemic challenge" for the first time.
The US government "shot itself in the foot"
According to the "New York Times ", China is Boeing's second largest market, second only to the United States.
In 2021, Boeing predicts that the number of commercial aircraft in China will double by 2040. By then, Chinese airlines will need 8,700 new aircraft, worth about $1.47 trillion.

On June 29, 2020, local time, in Seattle, Washington, USA, a Boeing 737MAX aircraft landed after a test flight at Boeing Airport.
The choice of China's three major airlines to cooperate with Airbus not only means that Boeing has lost an "epic" order, but also means that it has a disadvantage in the competition with its "old rival" Airbus.
The UK " Financial Times " said that this transaction was a major success for Airbus in the fight with Boeing. China is a crucial growth market for the two major aircraft manufacturers in the world.
The US government attempts to "decouple" from China through a series of means such as trade wars, thereby curbing China's development and continuing its dream of "world hegemony". But the result was a waste of money, not only failed to realize its vision of dominating the world, but also caused certain obstacles to the export of its domestic companies.
As Lianhe Zaobao commented, if Boeing wants to regain its big customer, it must not only win the trust of product quality, but also prevent the trend of "decoupling" between China and the United States. After all, it is easy for politicians to shout "decoupling", but it is painful for capital to "decoupling".
