博存方正文 (text/Roy) Former Chairman and founder of Wanghong, Hu Dinghua, passed away today (11th), and was 76 years old. Wanghong, Chairman Wu Minqiu, said via a telephone press conference that he saw Hu Dinghua in good health on weekdays, but today everyone received the news was really a bolt from the blue. He emphasized that Mr. Hu took the semiconductor industry as his mission throughout his life. Without him, Taiwan's semiconductor would not have had the situation today.
Wu Minqiu said that he is not clear about the reason for Hu Dinghua's death, but only knows that he passed away in his sleep. The last time he met was the shareholders' meeting on June 18. At that time, he was still very clear about his complexion and mind, so he was really surprised to receive the news today.
He also mentioned that in 30 years, Mr. Hu participated for 30 years. Wu Minqiu revealed that he introduced Handing Venture Capital through a friend when he started a business in Taiwan in 1989, so he met Hu Dinghua, who was the general manager at the time. Later, he decided that Hu would serve as chairman and Wu Minqiu would serve as general manager. The two of them became friends. In 2004, Hu Dinghua believed that the company had a certain scale, and Wu Minqiu took over the position of chairman and he maintained his position as director.
Wu Minqiu said that when the two of them worked together, they learned a lot of professional and professional knowledge of semiconductors from Hu Dinghua. To this day, if they face problems in important decisions of the company, they will still ask Hu Dinghua. He always helps me open the Ren and Du meridians before I figured it out.
Wu Minqiu said that he has always respected Hu Dinghua as a very knowledgeable person. He has rich knowledge of semiconductors or knowledge outside semiconductors. He also founded the Institute of Electronics of the Institute of Technology Research Institute and organized the establishment of TSMC, UMC , Wanghong and other companies, which has made great contributions to the industry.
In fact, Hu Dinghua is a pioneer in the development of semiconductors in Taiwan. Many institutional establishments and decisions have been made in his hands, and their importance to Taiwan's semiconductors is no less than that of Zhang Zhongmou.
Wanghong pointed out that a farewell ceremony will be held for Hu Dinghua on a date later. The location is currently in the Wanghong Company Auditorium, and will be jointly organized by Wanghong, Institute of Technology Research, Jiaotong University, etc. Hu Dinghua currently serves as a director of Wanghong as an industry insider, so there is no need to conduct a director by-election.
