Recently, device insurance company AllstateProtectionPlans conducted an drop test for iPhone14Plus and iPhone14ProMax, hoping to figure out which device has suffered the most damage due to the drop.
This test was performed using a “DropBot” robot designed to help determine the fragility of the device after a single impact from a height of 6 feet.

These devices are thrown on the sidewalk in bare metal and face downward respectively. Despite the protection of super-ceramic crystal panels, both phones were severely damaged after falling.
When the iPhone 14Plus fell to the sidewalk face down, one side shattered, and a large number of loose glass fragments made it difficult for the phone to operate. But in comparison, the iPhone 14 ProMax is more severely damaged, with larger bullseye cracks appearing on one side and corner.
When the back of the iPhone 14Plus fell to the sidewalk face down, its camera shell was damaged and a bull's-eye crack appeared on one side. The damage to the iPhone 14 ProMax is even more terrifying, and it can be said to have suffered "disastrous destruction". The back of its glass is completely broken and most of the glass falls completely off the device. In addition, the camera case has also been severely damaged.

In addition to the front and back facing down, this company also tried the drop experiment of turning the phone side down. When the iPhone 14Plus falls side-down onto a set of paved stairs, the damage is minimal—there are only a few wears in the corners.
However, the iPhone 14 ProMax's performance is not that good. After falling, the rear panel is broken, the edges and corners are worn, the buttons are sunken, and the camera case is damaged.
After the experiment, the company pointed out that although each device suffered varying degrees of damage, it still operated normally.
test shows that the iPhone14ProMax is as fragile as iPhone13Pro and iPhone12Pro.
At the same time, it also points out why the Plus model is more "sturdy", that is, the aluminum case of the iPhone 14 Plus seems to be more resistant to shock than the stainless steel case of the iPhone 14 ProMax.

Editor's comment: I didn't expect that the iPhone 14 ProMax, which is the top-end product in the series, is more fragile than the iPhone 14 Plus, which is not as popular as consumers. So, is it relatively more "solid" to be considered a plus for iPhone14Plus?
