Red 2 and 6th Corps Arsenals former site

Red 2 and 6th Corps Arsenals former site is located in the Yaojia Dawu at the foot of the Big Fort Mountain in Ganlu Village, Ciyantang Town, Longshan County. In May 2006, it was announced as a national key document protection unit.
On April 12, 1935, in order to avoid the encirclement of the Sixth Route Column of the Kuomintang Army, the Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou Provincial Committee, the Provincial Military Region, the Provincial Revolutionary Committee and the Military Commission Branch of the Communist Party of China moved from Yongshun Tower to the Jiangjia House in Xinzhaiping, Xinglong Street, Longshan. On May 6, it was relocated to Longshan County, Ciyantang, Longshan County. The Red 2 and 6th Corps Arsenals were relocated with the Provincial Party Committee for the second time and were set up in the Yao Family House in Ganlu Village, Ciyantang Town.
Arsenal was the director of the factory, and its political instructor Yi Songlin, who had four departments, finance, repair, sand turning and bombs. There were about 300 workers, mainly from three aspects: one was about 150 original workers, two was about 50 prisoners, and three was about 100 local ironsmiths and carpenters recruited. The arsenal has two lathes, using iron, copper and tin as raw materials, and charcoal and firewood as fuel. It has manufactured and repaired a large number of bayonets, rifles, machine guns, , various bullets, grenades and other weapons and ammunition urgently needed by the Red Army , providing logistical support for the Red Second and Sixth Corps to defeat the Kuomintang.
In January 1935, the arsenal was closed after the Long March 8 of the Red Second and Sixth Legions.
