On November 23, the first "2019 Qingshanwang Folk Culture Festival" will be held in Qingshan Palace in , Shanxia Town, Hui'an, Quanzhou. During the Five Dynasties, King Qingshan led the villagers to fight against the pirates and protect the safety of the country, and was deeply respected and loved by everyone. The King of Qingshan is enshrined in Qingshan Palace, which is a national key cultural relics protection unit. It is known as the "Three Palaces in Minzhong" together with Tianfei Palace on Meizhou Island and Zhangzhou in Longhai. Let’s go and take a look at Qingshan Palace and learn about Qingshan King’s culture.
Qingshan Palace is located at the southern foot of Qingshan Village, Shanxia Town, Hui'an County.
was first built during the Taiping Xingguo period of the Northern Song Dynasty.
The only remaining Song Dynasty element in Qingshan Palace,
is the exterior wall of the apse.

So where can we tell that it is something from the Song Dynasty? Look at that wall, the stones outside our walls are all made from local materials inside our mountain. So it has been weathered now, and you can see the ash that it groped. This is not lime, this is the ash burned by shells in our coastal area.
Qingshan Palace enshrines the King of Qingshan, and
is a famous general Zhang Xu of a generation.
In the era when the five generations of pirates were rampant,
Zhang Qing led the local people to fight against pirates and develop the economy, and was deeply loved by local villagers.
So after Zhang Qing passed away, the villagers spontaneously built a small temple to worship.

In order to commemorate him, a small temple was built, either in this place or in the front place. Later, when we established a county in Hui'an County, we chose a site and dug out an epitaph, so we had to send him to this place.
In the Ming Dynasty,
Zhang Hu was named Linghui Hou, and
Qingshan Palace was expanded.

This place was rebuilt in the Ming Dynasty, because he was rebuilt in this place when he was a marquis at that time. Now the back hall still retains the original construction of the Ming Dynasty, which is also from the Ming Dynasty, and the two dragons in front are dragons from the Ming Dynasty, and the stone steps and floor pavement below are also from the Ming Dynasty.
Qingshan Palace has been rebuilt over the years, and
has gradually expanded to its current scale.
The existing Qingshan Palace is mainly in the architectural style of the Qing Dynasty.

The front hall of Qingshan Palace is all from the Qing Dynasty, including the stone pillars, the stone drum, and the wood carvings on it. The wooden structures are all from the Qing Dynasty. The two dragons above the nave are also from the Qing Dynasty. When we rebuilt, all of these stone pillars were from the Qing Dynasty and had their original structure.

The dragon in Qingshan Palace is different in the era and has different styles.

In the Ming Dynasty, we called it the ghost-headed dragon. Its head is larger and more fierce, and its body is thinner. In the Qing Dynasty, we were a little fatter and more refined.
Chen Mu Chun is a native of Qingshan Village, and
can be said to have grown up listening to the story of Qingshan King.
Next to the main hall of Qingshan Palace,
has built a new "Qingshan King Cultural Museum".

I was born here at the foot of Qingshan Mountain. I have lived for decades. I heard the elderly tell many stories, which are very touching, so I wrote them down. How to use them? I think it is better to express them in painting than words, so I use words while using illustrations.
