According to The Verge, Google announced on Wednesday that it will add a "realistic aerial perspective" to nearly 100 landmark buildings in Google Maps. According to Google, these views allow users to overlook landmark buildings in cities such as Barcelona , London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo, which is reminiscent of the Flyover function of Apple Maps.

You can learn what the new bird's-eye view looks like from this company's GIF image:

According to a blog post by Amanda Leicht Moore, Product Director of Google Maps , aerial overview is the "first step" to launching "Immersive Views", which the company showed off at Google I/O Conference. Google spokesman Genevieve Park told The Verge that the "Immersive View" will also include information such as indoor views and layered traffic and weather on the map. At the I/O conference, Google said the Immersive View will be launched in Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco and Tokyo “later this year.”

In addition to bird's eye view, Google will also bring some other new features to the map. For cycling routes, users will be able to see additional information such as whether the specific road the user will be indicated to be the primary or secondary road, whether their route includes stairs or steep hills, and whether they will encounter busy traffic, etc. If someone shares their location with you, you will be notified when they arrive or leave a location. Apple's "Find My" application provides similar features.

Moore says new bird's-eye view and location sharing notifications are now being rolled out on iOS and Android systems worldwide. Updated cycling route information will be available in the next few weeks.
