On October 9, 1949, the first session of the First National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was held. Ma Xulun did not attend because of illness, but he handed over his suggestion to Lu Xun's wife Xu Guangping and asked her to take her to the meeting to discuss.
