During the All-Star Game, Joel Embiid expressed his amazement at Wilt Chamberlain's excellent athleticism while chatting with his teammates off the court. The following video shows you the extraordinary things of the basketball emperor:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FCRIB6ZBSA4
Wilt may be one of the most athletic people that size that has ever existed, 300 plus pounds at times and over 7 feet tall and he was a world class athlete from his teenage years into his 50's and considered competitive in a variety of sports outside of basketball. Decided to put this together to Refresh our memories of some of the things that made Wilt such an all-around athlete
Chengbran's athletic ability may be the most ancient among people of his body shape. At most, more than 135 kilograms of weight and height of more than 210 cm allowed Chamberlain to maintain the level of a world-class athlete from youth to over 50 years old, and was recognized as a competitive field in many other sports fields outside basketball. I decided to make this video to everyone recall what makes Chamberlain so omnipotent.
UPDATE: Joel Embiid liked this video on twitter. The Process has been tuning in!

The clip at 3:57... Running full sprint, behind the back pass full speed... While being that fucking huge
Pay attention to the 3 minutes and 57 seconds of this video... Such a big center forward, he sprinted the ball at the extreme speed, and he can play back pass when running at full speed.

That clip seriously looked like some sort of tape that people are trying to figure out if it's proof he exists.

Keep in mind, all these clips of Wilt doing insane athletic things are also with him wearing old school Converse. None of the modern day basketball shoe technology
Raptors fans: Don't forget that Chamberlain who flies in all these videos are wearing old Converse sneakers. He has not enjoyed all kinds of high-end sneaker technologies nowadays.
[–]BladeofSouls 75 indicator 13 hours ago
Imagine him wearing BoostFoam tech shoes, long shorts, comfy jerseys, and compression sleeves NBA players wear nowadays. Won't do too much but boost his performance a bit.
Imagine if Chamberlain wore BoostFoam sneakers, comfortable jerseys and long shorts, plus pressurized arm guards. It’s not that he will transform into Superman in this way, but it will also improve his athletic performance.
It's insane guys back in the 50's played around 48 minutes a game with back in the past tech, with guys now with comfy shoes and compression fitted tech, yet we hear more injuries now than then.
Recalling the past, it's incredible that the group of old men who played in the 1950s. With the equipment with pitifully low technology content, every game was almost the entire game. Nowadays, players have more comfortable sneakers and pressure fitting techniques, but they are more affected by injuries.
However, a reason as to that could be the rise of social media and the NBA being more open than it was in the 50s. Another thing could be how the speed, pace, and demands of the game have increased, with the game of basketball changed into a faster, more run and gun style. The athletic demands for players have increased compared to those players back then, with our guys being taller, stronger, quicker, and more athletic.
That being said, perhaps it is because of the prosperity of social media and the NBA far more open than before that it makes it easier for us to understand the injury news about players now. Another possible reason is that basketball games have now evolved to a faster and closer to running and bombing style trend. As a result, the players in the game have improved their speed, game rhythm and complexity. Nowadays, players are generally faster, higher and stronger, and have more athletic ability. Therefore, the requirements for players' athletic ability in playing basketball are also unmatched by players in the past.
[–]CelticsODomincanB 66 Indicators 11 hours ago
Also pro athletes played thru injuries more back then because it wasn’t a millions of dollars job and not playing mean losing their main source of income. They made more than the average worker, but it wasn’t uncommon to have a job during the off-season back then.
Celtics Fan: Let me add that professional athletes in the past could not make millions of dollars like now. Not playing is equivalent to losing the main source of income, so they are more inclined to play with injuries. They are indeed not going to compare their payroll with the working class, but at that time many players would have another job in the offseason.

They said he ran a 4.4 forty when he was drafted by Kansas City lol what the fuck.
The fastest ever Lineman was Terron Armstead who ran a 4.71, and was also 300 pounds. Even if they messed up the hand-timer, worst case he'd be around a 4.55? Vernon Davis ran a 4.38, but was 255 pounds. Bonkers[Translation Note 1]
Trail Blazers Fan: It is said that when Chamberlain first entered the University of Kansas, he ran 40 yards (about 36.6 meters) in just 4.4 seconds. The fastest lineman in football to complete the 40-yard test was Terron Armstead, which took 4.71 seconds and weighed about 135 kg.
Even if the person who tested Chamberlain's speed at that time was notes (not electronic records), the measurement was not accurate, then Chamberlain had a speed of 4.55 seconds at the most, right? Vernon Davis ran for 4.38 seconds, but he only had 115 kilograms! Incredible.
[Translation Note 1]: Terron Armstead plays for the NFL New Orleans Saints, playing as an offensive tackle. Vernon Davis currently plays for the Washington Redskins, playing as a tight end. The 40-yard sprint run is a common test used in football to evaluate a player's speed and speed-up ability.

I know how he "had no children" but I'd like to imagine he actually had thousands of children and a couple hundreds years from now there'll be a 1 in 10 chance you have Wilt blood the same way there's a 1 in 10 chance someone in Asia is related to Genghis Khan
Warriors fans: I know, the official news is that Chamberlain "had no children", but I'd rather believe that his descendants are actually thousands of thousands. Genghis Khan, a genius of a generation, is his descendant of one out of ten people in Asia. Looking at the current romantic figure Chamberlain, in the future, such a miracle can be reproduced in America in just a few hundred years.

Tom Heinsohn, Celtics current announcer and a HOF player from Wilt's era who eventually became Celtics coach in the 70's. I can't say if it's true or not, but that's the man who's claiming he saw it happen
Cadids fan: The person you are talking about is Tom Heinsohn, current commentator of the Celtics. He is a Celtics and a member of the Hall of Fame and has played in the same field as Chamberlain. Heinthorne also served as head coach of the Celtics in the 1970s. I can't assert whether the midfield free throw is true or false, but the person who said this claims that he has witnessed it with his own eyes.
[–]NBAmx3552 122 Indicator 21 hours ago
He averaged 50-60 %FT so it would be surprised but with Wilt I guess it's possible.
Chengberon's average free throw shooting percentage in his career is only 50-60%, so this hit rate is quite unexpected. But as long as it is about him, I think it is worthy.
[–]Cavaliersdantheman9758[S] 151 Indicator 21 hours ago
I'm sure some will contest this because it feels like an endless debate with many nuances, but I'm 99% sure from all testimony (coaches, Wilt himself, etc) Wilt's problems at the free throw line were mental first (and became physical IE bad form, secondary to that). His shooting touch itself was not the problem. He was a good fall away jump shoter, and as the footage of his hook shots and the testimony of his half court shots indicated, he could even hit ranged shots (though he never did these during games). So, to me, it's plausible he could sink the half court shots with frequency.
Calligraphy fans on the floor: I dare say someone is going to oppose what I want to say next, because everyone will have their own opinions on this and argue endlessly. But judging from the existing evidence (from the team coaches and Chamberlain himself, etc.), I am sure Chamberlain’s poor free throws are first caused by psychological problems (and secondly, physical reasons such as pitching gestures). His shabby free throw should not be blamed on his touch. Chamberlain had an excellent backward jump shot. And his ultra-long hook in this video and other people's testimony of his midfield shooting, both show that the coach can even shoot long-range shots (although he never shoots far in the game). So in my opinion, Chamberlain can make a series of shots in the midfield.
[–]Cavaliersalibabaking 103 Indicator 20 hours ago
Kinda like lebron? The dude can make 26+ footers with ease but for some reason can't drain both free throws.
Cavaliers fan: Just like the situation of James? He can easily make a jump shot from outside the three-point line, and he can inexplicably lose both free throws.

He played professional volleyball? That's not even fair.
I always did think that if the NBA's most athletic guys (like LeBron, Westbrook, etc) played volleyball, USA should be able to dominate in volleyball.
Chengberon also played professional volleyball? That's too bullying.
I always thought that if we let players in the NBA with super sports power (such as James, such as Westbrook ) participate in the volleyball team, the US team will be the dominant volleyball team.

To be fair he played in a league he founded. In America had he wanted to really compete at the sport he would have played overseass where the good leagues are. Just the videos show show you that his form was really not great. IDK if that was standard when he got into it, but if you look at the really great hitters in the game past and present they Look nothing like Wilt when he's hitting
Heres a video of great hits
Celtics fan: To be honest, Chamberlain played in the volleyball league he founded [Translation Note 4]. If he really wants to show his skills and kill the whole world, he should go to a high-level overseas league. These videos recording Chamberlain's volleyball play actually show that his posture is not very correct. I'm not sure if his moves are counted as standard when he plays, but if you look at the good volleyball players who used to be now, they're very different from Chamberlain's batting moves.

Due to Chamberlain's existence, the All-Star Game of IVS was broadcasted on TV, and he was also elected as the All-Star Game MVP. I think a lot of basketball athletes would be at a disadvantage because of their size. Players like Westbrook or AI would excel at any sport, I imagine, but bigger guys like Wilt or LeBron or Shaq would be at a disadvantage in many sports given their size.
I think the reason for body shape will make many basketball players in a disadvantage when they are engaged in another sport. I guess players like Westbrook and Iverson will be at ease in any sports, but the body shape of a burly and tall athlete like Grandmaster, James or O'Neal will limit their performance.

They wouldn't fight in super heavyweight division considering that doesn't exist in the UFC or Bellator and wouldn't need to since the Heavyweight cut off is 265 and any NBA player could easily cut to that save for like.. Shaq I guess? Some 7 footers maybe.
Timberwolves fan: No, NBA players will not participate in super heavyweight fighting games at all, because neither UFC nor Bellator includes this level. In addition, they don’t need it, because the weight limit of players participating in heavyweight competitions is 120 kilograms, and most players should be able to lose weight more easily below this... maybe except O’Neal? Or some other seven-foot man.

The annoying thing about Wilt is you get the sense that people/hiself are purposely trying to exaggerate his stories, which puts everything else into question. Like I KNOW this dude was a crazy once-in-a-lifetime athlete, but 50 inch vertical at 7'1? Come on. I wish they'd just stick to the truth since the truth is already very impressive.
Cavaliers fan: What I am more annoying about playing the miracle of the Grandmaster is that you can realize that whether it is others or himself, they are intentionally adding bricks to the Grandmaster's credit card. This puts another mysterious veil on the truth of the facts. I understand, I understand, Shuai Zhang is a genius of sport. But is it true that the height of 2.16 meters and the vertical bounce of 1.26 meters is true? It’s time for those who write myths to take a break, after all, simply presenting the facts is enough to brag about the handsome man.

I try to dig to the bottom of every story, each has an origin. Usually it’s Wilt who exaggerates depending on the content and context of the discussion. Usually his peers are aware many people won’t believe them. His peers don’t give me the impression that they exaggerate. Some fans do, but they aren’t the source they are often repeating 2nd and 3rd hand and I never include 2nd hand fan testimony in my videos only first hand accounts
年官网: I want to dig into the root of every such legendary story and trace its origin. Generally speaking, Chamberlain himself exaggerated in specific circumstances and in the content of the conversation. His basketball colleagues usually know that many people will not believe these stories, and they should not exaggerate them. But some fans will believe it and even add some extra thoughts. However, even if the fans' words are transmitted by ten or ten, they cannot be used as a source of information, and I will not use their words as evidence to make videos. I only believe in first-hand news.

"On the trip to Russia with the Harlem Globetrotters, we were in Lenin Stadium, and they assigned a dressing room to the team. The players were getting dressed for one of their games. They were in rather close quarters. Remember, these were young kids-Wilt was 23. The others were his age. They were like kittens. You bump me, i'll bump you back. And before you know it, two of the guys set on Wilt. They started playingfully pushing and shoving him. And finally one of his teammates hit Wilt a little too hard. He took these two guys, twisted each of their shirts, and lifted both of them off the ground. Each of these guys weighed over 200 pounds. It looked like he had two little crackers in his hands. I thought he was going to hit their heads together. It was an amazing demonstration of strength"[Translation Note 6]
"At that time, we were in Russia, on the way to the Harlem Basketball Tour. The game was held at the Lenin Stadium, and the staff of the venue assigned a locker room to the team. Before one game, everyone was preparing for the appearance in the locker room, and they were very close to each other. Don't forget that these players are young, and Chamberlain is only 23 years old. They are tossing back and forth like cats. Almost no one noticed, two of them were going to make a fuss with Chamberlain. At first, they were jokingly pushing and shoving, and at the back, one of them gave him a lot without controlling it. Everyone, Zhang Bolun gently stretched his ape's arms, twisted his wolf's waist, grabbed the collars of the two, and took them into the air with just a slight lift. The judge said that these two great men weighed 200 kilograms each, and Chamberlain held it in his hands as if he was carrying a young child, and it was effortless. Chamberlain seemed to be trying to hit each other with his neck on his head, but he gave up. Everyone sighed that the commander is really a god. ”
