Recently, Deng Yumin, the son of anti-Japanese general Deng Xihou, former deputy chairman of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the China Democratic League, and former chairman of the Chengdu Municipal Committee, recalled the past years in an interview.
Deng Yumin, who is over 80 years old, recalled that in 2003, he proposed Chengdu's suggestion to sound the "September 18th" air defense alarm at the first session of the 14th Chengdu People's Congress, which received active response and adoption from the Chengdu Civil Defense Office. "At that time, more than 100 deputies to the National People's Congress and CPPCC members called on September 18 of each year, major cities across the country would sound alarms to warn people not to forget history. After I made the suggestions, I received support from many parties and received a good response after implementation."

Deng Yumin's father was Deng Xihou, the anti-Japanese general. On December 9, 1949, Liu Wenhui, Chairman of the Kuomintang regime Xikang Province, Deng Xihou, Deputy Chief of the Office of the Southwest Military and Political Affairs Office, and Pan Wenhua, jointly issued a telegram to revolt at the commander-in-chief of Longxing Temple in Peng County. "I think the uprising of the three generals in the environment at that time was a victory of the united front." Deng Yumin said that in the Pengxian Uprising, the united front of the Communist Party of China played a significant role. Before the uprising, the three generals had already contacted the Communist Party of China through the underground party and relevant personnel. In addition, the family and country feelings of the three generals also made them unwilling to participate in the civil war . "The Pengxian Uprising not only accelerated the liberation of the Southwest and reduced the losses of the People's Liberation Army, but also reduced the losses of the people and property of Sichuan and Chengdu. During the interview, Deng Yumin recalled a small incident: from 1959 to 1961, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China sent investigators from Beijing to Sichuan to learn about the living conditions of Deng Xihou's family at that time and asked if they had difficulties in life. "No matter how the investigator asks, my father firmly said there is no difficulty." Deng Yumin recalled that during the chat, the investigator saw his father cut the cigarette in half while smoking. He had to buy cigarettes with tickets at that time, so the investigator realized that he might be short of cigarettes, so he reported this situation to the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China immediately increased the quota for his father.
"The development history of the Revolutionary Committee of the Kuomintang in China is inseparable from the united front of the Communist Party of China." As an old member of the Revolutionary Revolution, Deng Yumin said that the Revolutionary Revolution is a party formed by the joint efforts of multiple small organizations that emerged during the revolution. Before the formal establishment of the Democratic Revolution in 1948, some revolutionary organizations had many connections with the Communist Party of China. After the birth of the Democratic Revolution, the Democratic Revolution firmly supported the policies of the Communist Party of China at different periods, from the anti-dictatorship and anti-civil war in 1948 to the support of the leadership of the Communist Party of China after 1949, the Democratic Revolution, as a participating party, actively performed its functions and always maintained a close friendship with the Communist Party of China. Influenced by his father, Deng Yumin joined the Democratic League and served as the chairman of the 7th, 8th and 9th sessions of the Chengdu Municipal Committee of the Democratic League, the vice chairman of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th sessions of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Democratic League, and the deputy director of the Standing Committee of the 12th, 13th and 14th sessions of the 5th sessions of the 5th sessions of the 8th, 9th and 10th sessions of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the member of the 8th, 9th and 10th sessions of the Central Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the representative of the 7th and 8th sessions of the People's Congress of Sichuan Province, and the member of the Standing Committee of the 9th sessions of the CPPCC of Sichuan Province.
Deng Yumin said that as long as the proposals and suggestions of democratic parties are supported and adopted by the government, whether as a deputy of the National People's Congress or a member of the CPPCC, the government will support and adopt them. In the 1990s, the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China originally planned to build a canteen on the Chengdu Commercial Street, but during the construction process, a "House of the Ancient Shu Kingdom large ship coffin single-wood coffin tomb ruins" was discovered. Learning of this situation, Deng Yumin, as a member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, submitted a proposal to National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in order to protect this site, which received response and attention from the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. The canteen originally scheduled to be built here was relocated and built. The State Administration of Cultural Heritage also decided to build a history museum at this major archaeological site. "I think the united front has played a great role in these issues," said Deng Yumin.
After retirement in 2008, Deng Yumin served as the honorary chairman of the descendant friendship committee of the Whampoa Military Academy Association in Sichuan Province, giving full play to the "remaining heat" for the united front. Regarding the younger generation of the Democratic League, Deng Yumin believes that a qualified Democratic League member has both political conditions and his own conditions. "The political condition is to be able to accept the leadership of the Communist Party of China.
