On November 5, the Organization Department of the Anhui Provincial Party Committee issued a pre-appointment notice, which showed that Sun Linhua, 39-year-old Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Suzhou University, is proposed to be deputy director of the Anhui Provincial Department of Natural Resources and a member of the Party Leadership Group.
According to his public resume, Sun Linhua was born in Changde, Hunan in 1981. He graduated from the Geology Science Base Class of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan) in 2003 and received a Bachelor of Science degree. In 2008, he graduated from the Graduate School of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a doctorate in science. In the same year, he taught at Suzhou University. In 2014, he was promoted to professor as an exception and was appointed as a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Earth Sciences and Engineering (IJEE).
Sun Linhua once served as the academic secretary of the Anhui Coal Mine Exploration Engineering Technology Research Center, deputy dean of the School of Earth Sciences and Engineering of Suzhou University, and deputy dean (in charge) of the School of Resources and Civil Engineering. He is currently the Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Suzhou University and the Director of the Anhui Provincial Coal Mine Exploration Engineering Technology Research Center. He is also a master's tutor at Anhui University of Science and Technology and Hunan University of Science and Technology, an editorial board member of IJEE, and a reviewer for several international academic journals. In December 2019, he was selected as a member of the China Youth Science and Technology Workers Association.
According to the official website of Suzhou University: Sun Linhua has successively taught courses such as "General Geology", "Geochemistry" and "Hydrogeochemistry", "actively guides students' practice and scientific research, and won the first China'Internet+' College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Anhui" Provincial Gold Medal, National Bronze Medal, the second prize of the Anhui Provincial College Students' Challenge Cup, and the third prize of the Anhui Provincial Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award in 2015."

Currently, Sun Linhua is mainly engaged in scientific research and teaching related to rocks, hydrology and environmental geochemistry. According to the official website of Suzhou University: Sun Linhua has presided over the completion of the National Natural Science Foundation, the Provincial Natural Science Foundation Project , the Provincial Department of Education Natural Science Foundation Key Project, the Provincial Department of Education University Outstanding Young Talents Project, and the Provincial University Discipline (Professional) Top Talent Academic Funding projects and participated in several National Natural Science Foundation of China research projects. A series of results have been achieved in the hydrogeochemical evolution and water source identification of deep groundwater in mining areas, the determination of the Neoproterozoic sedimentation time limit and structural background analysis in northern Anhui, and the quantitative identification of surface water, soil, and sediment pollution sources in mining areas. In recent years, he has published nearly 70 first-author papers related to rocks, hydrogeochemistry, environment and teaching, of which nearly 60 have been included in SCI and EI.
