4 The important role of bamboo winding in sustainable development

The role of bamboo winding in carbon sequestration and carbon reduction is mainly reflected in the following two aspects: On the one hand, bamboo has strong carbon storage capacity during its growth process. According to relevant studies, one hectare of moso bamboo can store 5.09 tons of carbon per year, which is 1.33 times that of tropical rainforest and 1.46 times that of Chinese fir. However, currently, about 110 million tons of bamboo are idle in my country every year, accounting for 73.3%. Long-term idleness will cause the degradation of bamboo forests and even cause the death of bamboos. On the other hand, the production process of bamboo winding composite materials has strong carbon reduction capabilities. For example, through comparison with five traditional pipe production processes, it can be seen that no process carbon emissions are produced during the production of bamboo winding composite pipes, and the energy consumption level of the entire process is also significantly lower than that of traditional pipes. At present, the proportion of fossil energy consumption is still over 85%. Replacing traditional pipes with bamboo winding composite pipes can achieve obvious carbon reduction and energy saving benefits. Taking a pipe with a diameter of 1000mm and a pressure level of 0.6MPa as an example, the energy consumption per unit length of the bamboo winding composite pipe is only 54.9 kgce/m, which is similar to that of plastic pipes, welded steel pipes , ductile iron pipes , and reinforced concrete drainage Compared with prestressed steel cylinder concrete pipe , the energy saving is 64.2%, 77.6%, 77.3%, 32.2%, 38.3% respectively; the carbon emission per unit length of pipe production of bamboo winding composite pipe is only 125.7 kgCO2/m, which is higher than the above five types.
