The police initially found out that in April 2017, the criminal suspects Liu Mouxi and Duan Mouqi opened a network technology company in Xuchang City, Henan Province, and served as the company leaders. From April 2017 to March 2019, the company recruited a large number of young male and female employees, pretended to be beautiful women as male salesmen, and found men to add WeChat or QQ friends on major gaming platforms on the Internet, and in the name of love, they lured the victims to recharge, On the pretext of sending virtual flowers, virtual marriage, and improving combat power, the victim was tricked into charging money into a game promoted by a technology company from another province that he cooperated with, and committed a crime of fraud.
After receiving the report from the victim, Xin County police attached great importance to it and immediately set up a task force to investigate the case. The police handling the case were not afraid of hardships and faced difficulties. They went to Qinghai, Guangdong, Sichuan, Hebei and other places to visit and investigate, peeling off cocoons, extracting threads, and tracing the traces. After nearly three months of unremitting efforts, the hard work paid off. The task force finally identified Liu Mouxi and Duan Mouqi, the behind-the-scenes operators of the gang, and the online platform company they established, and outlined the entire criminal context of the gang. Seeing that the time was ripe, the Xinxian County Police launched an operation to close the network. On the afternoon of March 27, the arrest team, led by the leader of the Xinxian Public Security Bureau in charge of criminal investigation, led a group of more than 30 police officers from the Criminal Police Brigade and the Internet Police Brigade to Xuchang.
