BWF has revealed that the 31-event World Tour calendar, including the year-end BWF Tour Finals, will see more Super 1000, Super 750 and Super 500 tournaments, bringing greater prize money opportunities for players.

Recently, the BWF official website announced that four more events will be added to the Badminton World Tour from 2023 to 2026, and the Malaysian Open will be upgraded to a Super 1000 event.

The BWF has revealed that the 31-event World Tour calendar, including the year-end BWF Tour Finals, will see more Super 1000, Super 750 and Super 500 tournaments, bringing more prize money opportunities for players.

Thomas Lund, Secretary-General of the Badminton World Federation, said that the 2023-2026 Badminton World Tour is expected to enhance badminton’s global status. “Badminton is one of the fastest growing sports in the world, with participation and fan numbers at record highs. More tournaments provide us with a fantastic opportunity to expand the sport’s reach around the world, not only in Established areas, but also in new areas it also allows more players to access our elite circuit and gain valuable experience," he said.

“We are very encouraged by the large number of high-quality bids we received, which bodes well for bigger and better Tour events over the next four years. It allows us to commit to higher prize money, bigger TV and online coverage as well as fantastic displays, all of which contribute to our quest for an enhanced world-class sporting product."
