1966, the ten-year special period began, and rebels from all over the country also became active and continued to impact local power institutions. Against this background, Hunan Provincial Party Committee was quickly paralyzed. On September 5, 1967, the preparatory group of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee was officially established. With the efforts of the preparatory group, the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee was established in April 1968.
Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee replaced the original Hunan Provincial People's Committee and became the supreme authority of the local government. The person we are going to talk about today is not only a member of the preparatory group of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee, but also served as the deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee and a deputy provincial cadre. His name is Ye Weidong. So, what is the story about Ye Weidong?
Ye Weidong was born in 1939 and is from Ningyuan County, Hunan Province. In his early years, he mainly studied in his hometown. After growing up a little, Ye Weidong was admitted to Hunan Normal University and became a senior intellectual in that era. After graduating from Hunan Normal University, Ye Weidong became a teacher and successively taught in Changsha No. 1 Middle School and Hunan University . If there was no subsequent ten-year special period, Ye Weidong would probably be a teacher for the rest of his life and teach and educate people. However, the beginning of the ten-year special period prompted Ye Weidong to appear on the political stage and left a strong pen in history.
1966, after the beginning of the special period of ten years, Ye Weidong, together with Zhang Jiazheng, Li Tiefan and others, established the Red Guard Xiangjiang Fenglei Advance Column, referred to as " Xiangjiang Fenglei ", and Ye Weidong was one of the main responsible persons. Xiangjiang Fenglei developed rapidly after its establishment. Soon after, the number of personnel increased to more than 10,000. Ye Weidong gradually became a local celebrity. However, on February 4, 1967, Hunan Military Region took sudden measures against Xiangjiang Fenglei and arrested Ye Weidong and other persons in charge.
After this, Ye Weidong was detained, but half a year later, Qi Benyu took the initiative to speak for Ye Weidong, and Ye Weidong also regained his freedom. Since then, the "Xiangjiang Fenglei" led by Ye Weidong has been fighting with the largest rebels in Hunan, the "World of Industry", and even bloody incidents have occurred. In order to quell the armed struggle in Hunan and to encourage the rebels to achieve joint efforts, the preparatory group of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee was officially established on September 5, 1967. As the leader of the "Xiangjiang Wind and Thunder", Ye Weidong also joined the preparatory group of the Provincial Revolutionary Committee, and later served as deputy director of the Hunan Provincial Revolutionary Committee, becoming a local senior cadre .
However, as he was in a high position, Ye Weidong lost himself and made a mistake. According to the 1982 "Indictment of the Procuratorate of Changsha City, Hunan Province", during the special period of ten years, Ye Weidong made many mistakes and persecuted many cadres, such as he had persecuted Zhang Pinghua, who had served as the first secretary of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee.
1967 On the evening of January 15, 1967, Ye Weidong gathered members of the rebels and captured Zhang Pinghua, and also detained Zhang Pinghua in the basement of Xinhua Cinema in Changsha for ten days, which greatly damaged Zhang Pinghua's body and mind. In addition, on April 3, 1976, at a cadre symposium held in the auditorium of the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions, Ye Weidong made a loud statement, publicly slandering Zhang Pinghua, and said: "Who is Zhang Pinghua? He has always been right-wing and has always been a double-faced person." At the same time, Ye Weidong also proposed to fight against Zhang Pinghua and slander Zhang Pinghua as a capitalist roader.
1976, after crushing the "Gang of Four", the central government continued to review the wrong behavior of the "Gang of Four". Against this background, in March 1977, Ye Weidong was suspended and under review. In 1982, the Changsha Intermediate People's Court sentenced Ye Weidong to 213 years in prison. After the sentence was pronounced, Ye Weidong was sentenced to prison. In 1987, Ye Weidong was released early, and he was since then placed in Hunan Library and Information School to become a teacher. In 1992, he transferred to Hunan Normal University to teach. In his later years, Ye Weidong devoted himself to education and made great achievements in education. It seems that although Ye Weidong is not suitable for politics, he is still very suitable for teaching.
