0 Wuhan new site of Tongji University Medical College - Hankou Huashang Racecourse

Most of the teachers at Tongji University Medical College are unwilling to move to Wuhan. When recalling this history, Qiu Fazu wrote: "The news that Tongji Hospital has been moved to Wuhan as a whole has been uproaring, and the whole hospital has been in an uproar. My German wife has become accustomed to life in Shanghai and is unwilling to move to Wuhan, which is very different from Shanghai." At that time, in addition to being a professor of surgery at the School of Medicine of Tongji University, Qiu Fazu also served as the director of the Department of System Surgery of Shanghai Second Military Medical University, director of the Department of Surgery of Shanghai Sixth Hospital, consultant of the Shanghai Health Bureau, and editor-in-chief of "Popular Medicine". Her life in Shanghai was very stable. But he knew very well that Tongji moved to Wuhan inwardly shouldering the important task of laying out the medical and health map of New China, and the transfer of medical supplies alone is not the real relocation of the school. In order to take into account the overall situation, Qiu Fazu left his wife and children in Shanghai and started traveling between Shanghai and Wuhan for four years (1954-1958).

During these days, Qiu Luoyi held up the burden of the family alone and relieved her husband's worries. In the summer of 1958, the family reunited in Wuhan. In addition to participating in labor, he was often arranged to write submission materials, and it was not until the late period of the Cultural Revolution that normal work was restored. In the early days of the Cultural Revolution, Qiu Luoyi was arranged to organize books in the library reading hall, and the library was closed and no longer open later. Qiu Luoyi took the initiative to process dressings for the hospital operating room - making gauze blocks, cotton balls, drainage tubes, , and repairing damaged rubber gloves. During that special day, Qiu Luoyi tried every means to build a warm home for Qiu Fazu. Their home is in the dormitory area of the medical school, located in a corner of a three-story building. The two-bedroom and one-living house is not large in size, but it is always full of a happy and joyful atmosphere. It is a fortress of love. Many experts from Wuhan Medical College collapsed during the Cultural Revolution. Qiu Fazu also experienced two criticism meetings and one house search during the Cultural Revolution. He fell into the whirlpool of "fighting, criticizing, and reforming". Recalling the experience of the Cultural Revolution, Qiu Fazu said: "My wife's attitude towards life infected me. Not only did she not leave me, she also taught me to face life optimistically. The harmony of the family and the love between husband and wife have allowed me to overcome all difficulties, relax my spirit, and survived the catastrophe of this decade."
