Jingdezhen is very famous in history. It was established in The town began during the Eastern Jin period, and it belonged to Jiangzhou during the Han Dynasty. to Song Dynasty , it was officially renamed Jingdezhen, and began to burn porcelain as its main business and gradually grew into China's porcelain capital. Since its naming in 1004 AD, the name Jingdezhen has been around for more than 1,000 years and has always been closely related to porcelain.
After the founding of New China, Jingdezhen City was separated from Fuliang County , but it was still a county-level city at that time. Above Jingdezhen City, there is also a Fuliang District, which governs some counties and cities in the northeast of Jiangxi. There is also the Shangrao special area. The original Shangrao was far larger than the Shangrao now.
Fuliang is an old place name in Jingdezhen, named Fuliang District, and its headquarters is located in Jingdezhen City, so at this time Jingdezhen was already a prefecture-level political district, but it is not a prefecture-level city.
Fuliang District did not exist for too long. After more than two years, it was incorporated into Shangrao District, which made it possible for the current Shangrao City.
After the Fuliang Special Zone was abolished, the county-level Jingdezhen City will operate and be upgraded to a provincial municipality. At this time, the provincial municipalities were at the same level as the special district, and at that time there was only one prefecture-level city in Jiangxi, which was Nanchang City.
So the second prefecture-level city established in Jiangxi is Jingdezhen City.

The area of Jingdezhen City at the prefecture level is not large, but it is still the scope of the original county-level city. All counties under Fuliang District are basically assigned to Shangrao District.
1960, Fuliang County was abolished and all were merged into Jingdezhen City. As described in the previous article, Jingdezhen City was split from Fuliang County in 1949. 21 years later, Jingdezhen City annexed the original parent body, which was equivalent to the overall change of the original Fuliang County to Jingdezhen.
So these two place names have very special significance for Jingdezhen.
After this, the scope of Jingdezhen City is constantly expanding. In 1983, the whole country carried out the merger of cities and municipalities and the abolition of prefectures and cities, and Jingdezhen has long been a prefecture-level city, so there is no region that can be merged. However, taking advantage of this east wind, Leping County, which was originally belonged to in Shangrao area, was generally assigned to Jingdezhen, and the two townships in the original Poyang County, were also assigned to Jingdezhen.
By 1985, Jingdezhen had 4 municipal districts (Zhushan, Changjiang, Ehu, Jiaotan) and 1 county, with a total of 5 county-level administrative districts. For prefecture-level cities, the number of urban districts is very critical because it affects the size of the city. At this time, Jingdezhen City had 4 municipal districts, and there were probably not many cities that could compete with it in Jiangxi.
In 1988, the originally abolished Fuliang County was restored, and the two districts of Ehu and Jiaotan were abolished and incorporated into the scope of the other two districts.
At this time, the political district structure of Jingdezhen City has been formed. However, in 1992, Leping abolished the county and established a city. Jingdezhen City has two districts, one county and one county-level city under its jurisdiction, and it has continued until now.
