Last month, a number of domestic map operators in my country disclosed the detailed map of Taiwan Province of our country.
When many netizens were looking at the street scene in Taiwan with interest, some people found that restaurants named "Shandong" appeared in many places in Taipei City.
Is Taiwanese people have a special liking for Shandong food? Or are there many Shandong people in Taiwan?
In fact, this question still needs to be answered from history, because when I was defeated and fled Taiwan Island , the one who brought the most Chiang Kai-shek was Shandong people.
Why did Chiang Kai-shek take so many Shandong people away? How did those people who originally lived in Shandong be swept away by Chiang Kai-shek to Taiwan?
Let’s take a look at the last battle to liberate Shandong that year, the Battle of Qingzhi.
Qingzhi battle took place in May 1949, at this time, all three major battles of the People's Liberation Army had ended.
Northeast and North China have been liberated, and the People's Liberation Army's millions of troops have fought Yangtze River in April, liberating Nanjing City.
Why did the Kuomintang still control Qingdao, Shandong, and several small cities around it after the National Liberation War and reached this point?
This has to mention the support of Americans.
The American support for the Kuomintang regime can be said to be unabashedly generous.
After the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the Americans used warships and planes to send the Kuomintang troops located in the rear of the Anti-Japanese War to the front line of the Anti-Japanese War.
In other words, it was sent to the front line of receiving the Japanese surrender, and took the opportunity to seize a large number of victorious achievements of the Anti-Japanese War. It not only restored control over most cities, but also accepted most of the weapons and equipment of the Japanese invaders.
In addition, the Americans also sent troops to station in some important cities in China, and asked for money, guns, and guns.
Before the war of liberation began, the Kuomintang had a weight of millions.
, and there are many ace troops armed with American weapons to the teeth. Their territory also accounts for the vast majority of China, many of which are important industrial bases and big cities.
Americans looked at the Kuomintang army armed by themselves and were very satisfied. Americans who firmly believed in weapons theory and believed it very conceited. With his own blessing, the military strength is not as strong as that of the Kuomintang's People's Liberation Army, and it will be difficult for him to become Chiang Kai-shek's opponent.
The War of Liberation will soon end with the victory of the Kuomintang, and China will establish a comprador government that obeys the United States.
and Qingdao , because of its excellent ports, has been remembered by the great powers in modern history.
Therefore, after the end of the Anti-Japanese War, the US Navy entered here, and there were a large number of American Marines on land. When the number of people was the largest, the US military in Qingdao had a total of 10,000 or 20,000 people.
In the eyes of the Americans, once Chiang Kai-shek's war goes well, this place will become its permanent military base , and the good port here will also provide a better barrier for it to control Asia, so it attaches great importance to Qingdao's defense.
Even if Chiang Kai-shek's war fails temporarily, the US military can also carry out maritime transportation and strategic dispatch through here. It can be said that it has made two preparations.
But what Americans did not expect was that the Kuomintang who were armed was actually beaten to that way in front of the People's Liberation Army.
After the initial attack, the People's Liberation Army entered the counterattack stage. Seeing that cities were constantly occupied by the People's Liberation Army, the number of People's Liberation Army gradually caught up.
Americans are anxious because not only the domestic anti-war sentiment, but also the Soviets' warnings, the United States cannot take the initiative to actively get involved in a new large-scale war when World War II just ended.
Therefore, the changes in the war situation on the battlefield of liberation exceeded most people's expectations.
People's Liberation Army won victories step by step. With the strategic decisive battle and the battles of several major battles, Chiang Kai-shek's reactionary army's only advantage - the number, is no longer as good as that of the Communist army.
In fact, before the strategic decisive battle began, the Americans saw that they were not doing well and had already begun to consider running away.
In September 1948, Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province, was taken down by the People's Liberation Army in one fell swoop. The US military, who had long been used to the failure of the Kuomintang battlefield, probably knew that Qingdao in their hands could not be saved.
However, at this time, a large area of land in North China, East China and South China were still in the hands of Chiang Kai-shek. It was indeed a detriment to his image to escape directly and in a panic manner.
, and Qingdao was still useful at that time. Although it might be done sooner or later, if you hold it in your hands for one more day, you will get some benefits.
Anyway, putting the army there is also the Kuomintang paying for it. Once the People's Liberation Army wants to attack Qingdao, their naval and air forces will be used to run away, and the People's Liberation Army can't stop it.
So, sticking to Qingdao was a very stable business for the US military at that time, but in private, the Americans were also ready to run away.
However, after the People's Liberation Army conquered Jinan, the entire Shandong area was basically liberated, leaving only an isolated city in Qingdao, and there was no rush to attack.
First of all, the People's Liberation Army has basically occupied Shandong. As an isolated city, Qingdao basically cannot cause any major storms, and it does not exist to become a threat to the People's Liberation Army's rear.
And although the People's Liberation Army was invincible on the land at that time, it lacked the navy and air force. Qingdao not only had the US Navy stationed, but also the US Air Force.
Although the Americans did not actually help the Kuomintang fight, once they rashly attack Qingdao and drag the Americans into the war, it was actually what Chiang Kai-shek wanted to see, which was very unfavorable to the War of Liberation.
And after the occupation, the US Navy and Air Force may come over and use its naval and air advantages to harass it, which will also bring unnecessary losses.
So since there is no need to fight first, the Party Central Committee decided to keep Qingdao first and then liberate Qingdao after the overall situation has been decided in the future. So after the liberation of Jinan, the three major battles of , were launched one after another.
With the advancement of the three major battles, large areas of land in Northeast China, North China and East China were liberated. The US military almost knew in February 1949 that Chiang Kai-shek could no longer defend mainland China.
But at that time, the United States was still waiting and watching the current situation, hoping that there would be some variables so that it could catch a fish in troubled waters.
But Americans didn't wait for this opportunity. After the three major battles of
, the People's Liberation Army broke through the Yangtze River defense line that Chiang Kai-shek claimed to be able to defend for ten years in April with a destruction.
and quickly liberated Nanjing, the capital of the Republic of China, at the location of the Kuomintang government, at the location of Nanjing.
Seeing that Qingdao has almost become the region north of the Yangtze River, one of the few important cities has not been liberated yet, the People's Liberation Army, which basically holds the victory of the national war in its hands, has begun to turn around and be liberated to Qingdao.
So, at the moment Nanjing was liberated, the US military's retreat plan began.
Americans carried a large amount of military supplies away despite Chiang Kai-shek's opposition. Soldiers, fighter planes, and fleets left one after another, just those military supplies that could not be transported away, in order to prevent them from being captured by the People's Liberation Army.
Americans were simply unwilling to leave it to the Kuomintang troops in Qingdao, but chose to destroy it directly. From this we can see that Americans themselves also know that it is inevitable that Qingdao will be liberated after they leave.
At this time, only the Kuomintang Liu Anqi troops were left in Qingdao, and although there were still armed forces of two armies, one division and four brigades on the surface.
plus combat forces such as the Shanghai Air Force and Security Corps , there are almost more than 50,000 people. Although it seems that there are many people, it is impossible to fight.
At that time, Chiang Kai-shek was ready to flee Taiwan. At this time, he was still dreaming of counterattacking the mainland in the future, and what he needed most to counterattacking the mainland was people.
There are not many indigenous people in Taiwan. Even if all male young men who are suitable for combat are enlisted, it is difficult to fight against the mainland. Therefore, Chiang Kai-shek did not ask the defending generals to defend the city as before.
instead secretly ordered Liu Anqi . If you find a good opportunity, you will run away. Not only will you have to take the 50,000 troops with you, but you will also catch more strong men and go to Taiwan together to "counterattack the mainland" in the future.
Before the People's Liberation Army officially liberated Qingdao, Liu Anqi found Chiang Kai-shek and transferred a large number of ships to Qingdao, which would only send more people to Taiwan.
After the post-statute, Qingdao recruited as many as 70 or 80 ships, with a capacity of hundreds of thousands of tons. Therefore, Liu Anqi's troops were on the surface to defend Qingdao, but in fact, they were to gain time and capture the strong men.
The Kuomintang is a veteran in catching the strong men.
But in the past, there were still some rules to catch strong men, such as drawing lots, one of three male men, or two of five.
Even in the critical moment of the survival of the country in the War of Resistance Against Japan, the Kuomintang rarely gave birth to only children, or had no age, or was disabled.
However, at the end of the War of Liberation, especially after the decisive battle, in order to solve the problem of soldiers, the Kuomintang had no bottom line to conquer the strong men.
The Kuomintang has evolved in many cities, and it directly caught men when they see them on the street, smashed open the door of residents, and then broke into the door to capture the men at home. Qingdao is a typical example.
The People's Liberation Army also knew that Liu Anqi's troops were a soft persimmon, so the 32nd Army, which was responsible for the main combat missions, only dispatched 30,000 people to participate in the attack.
In order to delay the time for the capture of the strong men, Liu Anqi sent a large number of miscellaneous troops to the periphery of Qingdao to fight the blockade. Although this blockade is meaningless, it delayed the pace of the People's Liberation Army to a certain extent. They delayed for more than half a month.
Then, on June 2, Qingdao declared liberation.
The day before liberation, the People's Liberation Army was almost attacked in Qingdao. The Kuomintang army had no intention of resisting at all. Under the coercion of the Kuomintang reactionaries and the demonized propaganda of the People's Liberation Army, they were all scrambling to board the ship.
At this time, they thought they would be able to return to the mainland soon, but who knew that most people would never have the chance to return to the mainland in their lives.
The battle to liberate Qingdao lasted less than a month, and the Kuomintang army suffered about 10,000 casualties. In the War of Liberation, it was indeed not a large-scale battle.
However, when the Kuomintang evacuated, according to their own post-event statistics, there were as many as 80,000 Kuomintang troops fled from Qingdao, and there were nearly 10,000 casualties, so why are there so many more people?
This is what I have to ask Liu Anqi. Although he can’t fight, he is the first-class in arresting the strong men. The extra troops were captured by him.
In addition, countless people were swept up and forced to board the ship to Taiwan. Afterwards, Liu Anqi himself said that he had taken 100,000 or 200,000 soldiers and civilians to Taiwan by him, and those young talents and experts and scholars from various professions also took away nearly 10,000 people under his coercion.
The impact on Qingdao is tantamount to allowing Qingdao to endure the baptism of a war.
However, many of these people who were taken away by the Kuomintang failed to wait until the day they returned to their hometown in mainland China. They were suddenly captured and did not even have time to say goodbye to their relatives, leaving only endless regrets in the world.
After the three links between mainland China and Taiwan, those strong men who were in the past had the opportunity to return to their hometown.
But my lover back then may have been married as a wife, and I may have also brought other people's children. My parents who were still very young back then may have only graves left. My playmates back then may have recognized each other as old as each other. Not out.
Qingdao has been liberated for more than seventy years, and the young man in his teens was about ninety years old.
The young people who left their hometown spent almost their lives in Taiwan under the selfish desires of the Kuomintang reactionaries.
Their habits and memories in their hometown were also brought to Taiwan. The special foods from all over the mainland of Taiwan are the best testimony.
The mainland and Taiwan have the same clan and origin, and China will surely be unified, but on the day of unification, how many people can there be who have personally experienced the pain of separation from their hometown?
