Zhu De was born in Yilong County, Sichuan Province in 1886, 1911 Participated in the Revolution of 1911, followed by Sun Yat-sen and devoted himself to the cause of revolution. In his early revolutionary career, he served successively as the brigade commander of the Yunnan Army, the commander of the Yunnan Army Gendarmerie Command, the chief of the Yunnan Provincial Police and the chief of the Kunming Police Department.

After the Revolution of 1911, there were frequent civil wars, and the people did not have a living. Zhu De was very depressed and hesitated. After the outbreak of the May Fourth Movement, with the introduction of advanced ideas, he earnestly studied progressive books such as " New Youth" and "New Wave". Labor’s sacred socialist system expressed appreciation and approval, and the thinking has been greatly improved. In the process of learning and communication, his friend Sun Bingwen told him that with the help of the Soviet Union, the Communist Party of China had been established in Shanghai. This party will lead the laboring masses to overthrow the rule of warlords, drive out foreign powers, seize power throughout the country, and implement the socialist system in China.

After listening to Sun Bingwen's words, Zhu De was suddenly enlightened. He was determined to join the Communist Party of China, completely break with the warlord forces, and take a new revolutionary path. In July 1922, Zhu De resigned from the post of Kunming Police Commissioner, and rejected the invitation of the Sichuan Army’s Second Army Commander Yang Sen_span_span_span_span_span to take up the post of commander. He couldn’t wait to come to Shanghai and found Chen Duxiu, the founder of the Communist Party of China. He made a request to join the party.

However, Chen Duxiu believes that a person like Zhu De who has been a senior military officer can not join the party with a single application. They must pass strict tests in revolutionary activities and be considered qualified to develop. So he refused his request. In Shanghai, the request to join the party failed, so Zhu De decided to transfer to Europe. In October, he visited Zhou Enlai, the head of the European branch of the Chinese Communist Party in Berlin, and sincerely stated his tortuous experience of finding a party and his strong desire to dedicate himself to the Chinese revolution, and once again requested to join the Chinese Communist Party. After asking Zhu De some related questions, Zhou Enlai said that he was willing to introduce Zhu De to the Communist Party of China with relevant comrades, but the branch could only accept Zhu De as an alternate party member, and he could be considered a full party member after being reported to the domestic Central Bureau for approval. In November, introduced by Zhang Shenfu and Zhou Enlai, Zhu De realized his wish to join the party.

In order to pursue his ideals, Zhu De abandoned the high-ranking officials, left the old army, and traveled across the oceans, finally fulfilling his long-cherished wish. The hardships and twists and turns of this process proved his dedication to revolutionary ideals.

Anchor of this issue: Zhao Jin, joined the Communist Party of China in December 2011, joined the work in September 2012, and is currently a member of the Fourth Party Branch of the People's Procuratorate of Baodi District.
