On November 2, the " Zero Carbon Mission International Climate Summit 2022" was held in Beijing, hosted by Phoenix TV , WWF (Switzerland) Beijing Representative Office (WWF), co-organized by Rocky Mountain Research Institute (RMI), Beijing Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Foundation (SEE Foundation), and the Avenue Climate Change Promotion Center (C Team), was held in Beijing. Phoenix Finance conducted a full report. The theme of this summit is "Green Development, Carbon Road China", and invited nearly 70 top guests from the political, business and academic circles to discuss low-carbon transformation and climate change response, and promote practical and effective actions.

Hu Tao: Next we will discuss how to further promote the forces of all parties and coordinate the reduction of pollution reduction and carbon reduction, not only to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but also to reduce the emission of air pollutants and achieve the zero-carbon mission. Director Dai’s association mainly plays a bridge role. How can you introduce a lot of international experience into China and promote Chinese experience to the international level during your work?
Dai Jianjun: Hello everyone, I am Dai Jianjun, vice president of the Beijing Civil Organization International Exchange Promotion Association. The association was established in 2017. At that time, as an organization at the Beijing level, its main function was to promote Beijing Civil Organizations to participate in international exchanges and international exchanges. Currently, the association has four international identities, two relatively important: one is directly related to today's topic, and we are observers of the Framework Convention of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change.
World World Foundation of Nature is the organizer of today's conference, and it is also our partner of the Beijing Promotion Association for many years. Since 2014, we have carried out a series of cooperation with the World Fund for Nature around climate change and environmental protection, especially the cooperation activity of " Earth Hour " every year, which is also very influential around the world. I believe many guests here also participated in this activity, advocating low-carbon life and advocating the reduction of unnecessary energy use. Last year, we first implemented such an event at the Phoenix Center as the main venue.
Today’s theme is the International Climate Summit for Zero Carbon Mission, and we also want to work together with multiple parties to respond to climate change and achieve dual-carbon goals. Climate change is also the unshirkable responsibility of each of us, every country, every society, and every group, because it is related to the destiny of mankind and the future of mankind, and it is also the mission and task of our Beijing Promotion Association. In recent years, responding to climate change has been an important challenge for the world, so it is also an important task for our hub-based social organization.
I recalled initially that since 2009, we have been participating in a series of global climate change conferences, including professional conferences related to the Climate Change Conference, Copenhagen Conference, Cancun Climate Change Conference in Mexico, Durban Conference in South Africa, Doha Conference in Qatar, Lima Conference in Peru, and Maracash Conference in Morocco. Especially in 2019, we and the World Fund for Nature jointly held the annual meeting of China's low-carbon cities in Madrid, Spain, and introduced China's experience and practices in responding to climate change, promoting carbon peak, and carbon neutrality to the delegates. It also sent our voices of China and Beijing to the whole world, put forward our smart plans, and also shared some of our successful practices and experiences in Beijing with people from all over the world.This is to better combine forces from all aspects, form a joint force between each other, and promote the joint response to climate change.
Just now, I also heard Dr. Hu Tao’s wonderful speech. Today I feel that responding to climate change and participating in climate governance really cares about human rights and interests and is related to the global future.
Now our country has set a dual-carbon goal, requiring carbon peak in 2030 and carbon neutrality in 2060. This is our country’s solemn commitment to the world. It is not easy to achieve this goal. We have been working hard now. In addition to the series of tasks completed by the Beijing Promotion Association that I introduced earlier, there are still some platforms for us to do some work. For example, Zhongguancun Forum, Service Trade Fair and other platforms, we have also made some efforts in these aspects. Although it is not directly targeted at climate issues, energy issues are also related to climate change.
As long as we work together, and in accordance with the report of the country, government, especially the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, we actively and steadily promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality, actively participate in the overall goal of global governance of climate change, and give full play to the role of our hub organization, we will eventually be able to achieve a bright future for human green development.
