The first wind power seaside test base in China is located in the Wind Power Industrial Park, Haojiang District, Shantou City, Guangdong Province. Recently, the first offshore wind power grid-connected test unit of the base has passed the national certification and will be put into use soon. It is understood that the base will also build a test seat that can carry a maximum of 24 megawatt offshore wind turbines, and the test capacity will reach the international leading level.
"green electricity " comes from the sea.
makes up for the "shortcoming" of my country's wind power industry chain
In recent years, my country's offshore wind power has entered a period of large-scale development, the level of wind turbine R&D and manufacturing has been continuously improved, and the update and iteration speed of wind turbine units has accelerated and its capacity has increased. In Guangdong, the maximum single-unit capacity of wind power grid-connected units jumped from 5.5 MW in 2020 to 8.3 MW in 2021. The single-unit capacity of units planned to be connected to the grid between 2022 and 2023 will reach 13 MW, and the 16 MW fan has also entered the R&D stage and is expected to be put into production at the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan.
What is not matched is that the maximum test capacity of existing domestic test sites is only 8 MW to 10 MW, which is difficult to meet the testing needs of large-capacity fan. "Building a special testing site for wind turbines and standardizing the testing of various tests and inspections before grid connection is of great significance to ensuring the stability and safe power supply of the power grid." Li Li, deputy general manager of the Guangdong Power Dispatching and Control Center of the State Grid, said.
In order to fill the "gap" in domestic large-capacity fan testing, support the new energy industries such as wind power to achieve high-quality development , and help achieve carbon peak carbon neutrality, since this year, under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau, Guangdong Grid Company of China, under the guidance of the Guangdong Provincial Energy Bureau, has planned and built the first domestic wind power seaside test base in Shantou, and built a "certification and testing service platform" and a "public test platform" for offshore wind power large-capacity units. The base plans to build 4 test cameras, with a maximum single-machine testing capacity of 24 megawatts, which can meet the maximum demand for domestic R&D and application models during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.
"At present, the world's largest seaside wind power test site can support 15 megawatt fan testing. Onshore test wind farms have also been built in Zhangbei, Hebei, China, but due to wind conditions, the fan testing capacity that can be supported is smaller." Zhao Yu, director of the Wind Energy Department of China Quality Certification Center, introduced that after the completion of the first seaside wind power test base in Guangdong, the fan testing capacity will reach the international leading level in one fell swoop.
helps clean energy to connect to the grid to "accelerate"
According to Li Bo, the grid connection management team leader of the Guangdong Power Grid New Energy Service Center, "Guangdong is the province with the longest coastline in the country and has rich sea breeze resources. After multiple rounds of surveys, we selected , Shantou Haojiang District . Thanks to the 'narrow tube effect' of the strait, the wind here is very strong and has unique wind power testing conditions." So, since it is necessary to simulate the intensity of offshore wind, why not choose to build a base directly on the sea, but instead choose a sea-side area? In this regard, he said that most traditional offshore wind power testing sites are built on the sea, and all wind power installation and testing operations need to be carried out by special ships, which have disadvantages such as high risks, long cycles and high costs.
"Guangdong is the province with the most typhoon logged in the country. Carrying tests at sea is prone to extreme weather such as typhoons and heavy rains, and even causing personal and equipment safety accidents. Carrying offshore wind turbine tests and testing on land with excellent sea wind resources is an international development trend." Li Bo said that thanks to the convenience and speed of land operations, the cost of Linhai wind power testing is only about 1/3 of the cost of offshore wind power testing.
At present, the offshore wind power industrial park where the base is located has entered many upstream and downstream enterprises in the offshore wind power industry chain, including production cabin covers, towers, flexible DC equipment, etc. It is reported that the experimental base also plans to integrate flexible DC transmission and wind storage collaborative control to support the research and development of new wind power technologies and new equipment. Guangdong Power Grid Company is responsible for the investment, construction and operation management of the base. Fan manufacturing companies can apply for cameras to carry out relevant inspections. The vision of "production-assembly-certification" of fans can be completed in one park will become a reality.
