Xie Zhijie, director of the Statistical Analysis Department of Changsha Customs, said that Hunan's foreign trade import and export showed strong resilience in the first half of the year, especially in the second quarter, which was significantly better than expected and grew at a faster rate, laying a good foundation for the steady increase in foreign trade volume throughout the year. . This is mainly attributed to the strong promotion of macro-policy support, the continuous increase of trading partners, the continuous improvement of the leading effect of provincial capitals, the effective stimulation of the vitality of market entities, and the continuous enhancement of the role of open platforms.
In addition, RCEP’s promotion effect on Hunan’s foreign trade has quickly emerged. In the first half of the year, Hunan's imports and exports to the other 14 members of the RCEP agreement totaled 108.07 billion yuan, an increase of 36.2%. During the same period, a total of 470 million yuan of Hunan's import and export goods benefited from RCEP, with a cumulative tariff reduction of approximately 6.8 million yuan. Among them, Japan is the largest visa destination country and source of import preferences under Hunan’s RCEP policy.
In terms of ensuring the smooth flow of international cargo logistics, since this year, Changsha Airport has successively restored and added 5 cargo routes, including Osaka, Manila, Bangkok. In the second quarter, Changsha Airport had 353 inbound and outbound cargo flights, which was 353 times. The first quarter growth was 58%. In the first six months, Hunan shipped a total of 558 China-Europe freight trains, 45,000 boxes, and 368,000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 43.8%, 41.3%, and 54.8% respectively.
